It’s been quiet here all week. The cats are on hiatus. Seriously, they are always on hiatus but this year is even more hiatus-y!
It’s been an uneventful year. No new cats and no losses. Mollie had some teeth pulled and Hazel got her poops under control (sort of). The grays are just the grays. Annoying and lovable. Cuddly and demanding. Normal. They wish you all a new year.
Love the collection of Starbucks cups they can play with…:)

And Happy New Year to you and your busy household, too, Kate. Let’s hope for a continuation of the peace and quiet, for as long as possible!

Sending love from my cats to your cats (although that doesn’t include mousies — they made me say that).

Kana said to let you know that they all send their love to your cats, and they have plenty of mousies right now because Grandma gave them each a present and some of the presents had MULTIPLE MOUSIES in them!

I wish mine would go into a bit of hibernation. Particularly the kitten, whose not a kitten anymore. And needs to realize that.
Of course pestiness and minor chaos is one of the things I actually love in cats, so I really shouldn’t complain.

Gracie who we think is the youngest (age unknown at adoption) acts like a young kitten even though she has to be at least 2 maybe older. She has an exercise routine that includes zoomies throughout the entire house at 7 a.m. Sometimes it’s up over the bed no matter is anyone is in it. Gotta love her though.

Mine also have a predawn ritual of stampeding through the house chasing each other. It’s like a herd of elephants. I feel sorry for my neighbor downstairs.

What is it with cats and pre-dawn stampedes?

Did you see JoyRoses (Nuggets of Gold) post “What About George?”
It contains a shout-out to Morgan, Grace, Mollie, and Hazel:
“Then there were the 2 beautiful Persian cats at one house and 4 mischievous cats at Kate’s house, who were all wide eyed watching Jinx and Jangle.”

There’s a sweet spot between young/ new animals and geriatric ones where they don’t need a ton of care. Vet bills are as minimal as vet bills get. It’s nice. 🙂

Yes. And the extra work too. I have that with managing Hazel’s IBS. When Jake passed 3 years ago, in the sadness I knew I didn’t have to do pee towels twice a week or worry about him. Fast forward 3 years and I’m keeping an eye on poops in the box to make sure nothing is soft. Yikes. I know, TMI!

I love uneventful years… I’m this kind of people who pay with tears shortly after something fabulous happened ;O)

May that cup of kindness continue to spill in your direction. (Winning the lottery would be OK, too!) Purr on!

If we won the lottery you can be sure that would be the slip of paper that Morgan chewed to smithereens.

Glad you had an uneventful year. We did lose one of our cats, but she had a long (20 years), warm, and safe life with lots of purring. Can’t ask for more. Tell the kitties we wish them a happy New Year, too!

My older cats are moving into the geriatric stage where things go wrong (and owner gets neurotic). They will be 12 and 14 in the new year. I’ve never had a cat make it to 20 but several topped out at 18.
