Gracie here: This week we have a contractor coming to enclose an area for a music room. There will be French doors to close it off and soundproofing to keep the noise down. We think it may be our caterwauling room too. A good place to exercise our lungs. The biggest issue is that it will take a week. That’s a week of Sasha being weird and staying under the bed or in her new hidey spot in the basement. We hope it goes fast as the lady peep is still recovering from her accident. She has learned from us that napping is a good thing. Hard to nap with strangers in the house.
Aside from all the furniture getting squooshed together to make an area for the work to be done, it’s been a quiet week. Peep is getting better which is good as our purr machines need a break. Here are the lovers.
Morgan wants in too!
Purrs are the best medicine for peeps…
Hope there’s sanctuary somewhere quiet for the redo…grrrrs will happen.
But French doors and a night time gymnastic adventure course of furniture just for cats until it’s done. Sounds almost as good as catnip…not really…there must be catnip

There is definitely catnip. I need people catnip!

Good news all around! Feeling better (somewhat anyway), progress on the house, and the cats are all well š

Well that sounds like never a dull moment at your new house – did you have a music room in the old house too?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes. When my husband practices guitar he was able to close it off so it didn’t disturb anyone.

You’ve probably mentioned it before I followed you. That’s interesting. Does he play in a band or just enjoy playing guitar?

Gosh he’s way too old to play in a band! š He played in a band to pay his way through college. He has kept up playing but it’s just for himself and occasionally the family. It keeps his fingers limber.

Well, you never know … for example, I listen to the Mitch Albom Show every day and he belongs to a rock group called “The Rock Bottom Remainders” and they play several gigs a year, mostly for charity. They are all authors, like Mitch Albom. The band includes Dave Barry (74), Steven King (73) and Scott Turow (72) and several others.

That’s pretty cool. I’ve never heard of them.

I thought so too. You can read the entire list of musicians on Wikipedia and/or their website http://rockbottomremainders.com/

Music room? La, la, sounds very posh.

Posh may be an exaggeration. It’s the room with the guitars where all the playing is done.

Maybe it will save your ears, at least. š

Hoping the music room renovations go smoothly and quickly. In the meantime, enjoy those naps with the Sleep Brigade.

Thanks for the pics Gracie! They are adorable. A new room for tail thumping and wrestling around sounds good!! Now, when I see pics of the lovers and think, “get a room”, they will have a room!

Gus is the loudest tail thumper here. Sometimes the peep has to check because it sounds like someone is banging on the door!

A music room sounds like a wonderful part of your new home. It sounds like a good multipurpose room, as well. I hope the cats behave themselves and take good care of it. š

We are excited about it. Mostly it’s for my husband and all his guitars and of course the cats because all rooms belong to cats.

A Music/Caterwauling Room sounds awesome! Sending good vibes that the construction process goes well…and quickly!

I am hopeful that they keep the caterwauling to that room as it will be soundproofed.

You are all such cuties. How cool that you will have a caterwauling room. š

Gracie: Yes, we are starting our own choir. We’ve ordered catnip treats for the break but are considering starting with that.

You’ve accomplished more in the past 12 months than I have in the past 12 years. I should be ashamed of myself. But, no. I’m not. š

Ummm…I don’t think so. You made some very big decisions that guided your life to Florida. I think that’s awesome.

Yup. We moved to Florida 12 years ago.
Since then? Nada. š
Actually, I could think of a few things, but your move mid-Pandemic, and the work you’ve been doing since are an inspiration.

I don’t recommend any of it! š

We will only move again if it feels like EXACTLY the right fit ~ location, price, size, amenities, etc. Which means, the market must cool down a bit first. Trying to buy now would be “frustrating.”

Yes it is. Low inventory and exorbitant prices (which you would also get for your place) I will need to buy a car and it’s the same craziness and bad timing.

Good luck with the car search!

It’s going to be great getting a project like that done! Well… when it’s finished… Ha! So nice to see Sassy Cat photos… always enjoy Sassy Cat Friday. It is good to hear you are feeling better, naps and all that purring is doing the trick!

We got sort of lucky. He was supposed to start Monday but he’s starting later in the week. Normally I’d be bummed. I am elated. We had to move furniture to make room for the work and I can’t do that. Luckily a friend stopped by.

Do the peeps play instruments, or do they just listen to other peep’s music? Hopefully, the work being done won’t take too long or cause too much fretting and such. Good of you and the rest of the cat clan to be so kind to your lady peep.

Gracie: The man peep plays guitar. He has more equipment than I have catnip. That’s just not right!

The feelings are mixed. I want it done so I have to have the chaos but I’m so not in the mood. We are lucky we were able to get a contractor to come in this summer. Most are booked through next year.
