Sasha here. The peep had a doc appointment this morning. Today! The day when I post! She has no sense of priorities!
We are kind to her because she’s had some issues. One day last weekend she had to take an afternoon nap. We cats do that all the time and she occasionally sneaks a few winks, but this was a solid full snore snoozathon! We were worried. (She’s the only one with opposable thumbs to open the food cans!)
Morgan rounded us up and we promptly jumped on the bed. Gus started humping her leg with loud purring. (Purring helps heal. That’s pure science. I’m not sure who enjoyed it more. Gus was pretty zen.) Morgan laid next to her back so she couldn’t move and I snuggled up in her neck.
After a quick nose bump I parked my booty towards her face so she knew it was me. Us cats are booty cats. We sniff to identify. Booty smells tell us a lot — who finished off my lunch and who had the smelly turd in the litter box. People don’t appreciate information like that. I’ve never seen peeps do that. Anyhow she was vexed, trying to rearrange me. I threw my fluffy tail across her face. She threatened to remove me from the bed. REMOVE ME! I’m worried about her thumbs, oops health and she’s not cooperating. In the end I scootched around and let her gaze into my eyes while I purred her to sleep.
When she woke up, she was better (still cranky but better). Her thumbs worked well for supper. All is well when the cat food cans open!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! So glad the healing nap (with purring) kept her thumbs healthy and in good shape!

I am pretty sure a nap can change your whole day for the better. I am glad your Mom felt better but not good about still having a cranky. I still remember how wonderful it was to have the Z Cat velcroed to my chest, purring and she always smelled so good. I napped back in those days. Good work, Sassy Cats for your coordinated efforts to make her feel better.

Glad everything was good after your Mom’s nap. My cat would agree with you about the thumbs being very important.

Well gang, whenever The Mom is having “issues”, it’s up to the cat staff to take care of her – after all she opens up the food and dispenses it so the LEAST we can do is be nice when she’s feeling poopy (oops….that might not be the right word but you know what I mean). When we need help the Mom is always there for us so it’s the least we should do when the situation is reversed – right? RIGHT?????????

Right! We are not sure the man peep knows how to open cans. That would be a disaster.

Sasha, you’re right. How dare she nap. A cat nap is one thing, but sounds to me your Peep has turned into Rip van Winkle. She’s lucky you’re so on the ball Sash to go on the air at a moment’s notice. I suggest more coffee. What do ya think?

Peeps sure are persnickety sometimes aren’t they Sasha? Well, hopefully she paid attention to your feelings as you laid them out here and she will do better next Friday.

She does. She was napping with her besties.

Nothing better than a snuggle with the crew. And if they didn’t put add some small annoyance it wouldn’t be having cats. As I told a co-worker – My cat is perfect. She said you were just complaining about her getting on counters. And I said, “A perfect cat must be annoying in just the right degree to their personality. She’s perfectly annoying.”

I’m glad the cat crew was there to help her get some much-needed sleep. It’s hard to imagine, though, why she’d object to a butt in her face. Sheesh!

Glad your feeding time didn’t coincide with her nap time . . . that could have caused chaos!

We all need a cat nap once in a while. As for a booty in the face, hm, maybe not so much! I might get a cold nose in my ear, but that’s about it. Hope you’re feeling better Kate.

A good nap restores energy! I will also get a wet nose in the face but it’s the booty in the face I’m not fond of.

They are the best. None of them sleep on the bed overnight. Yet if I go to nap, they are all there with me!
