Hi all! Gracie here. Another quiet week. The peeps were running around selecting stuff for their next project. We were left alone. Good snoozes but short on catnip.
Morgan got confined in a drawer for several hours. The peep had opened the door to a set of drawers. Morgan must have jumped in for a nice snooze. There is fabric in the drawer, so it was nice, comfy and quiet. The male peep closed the door. It wasn’t discovered until the lady peep went to put something away. She opened the door and a big gray thing with one eye came flying at her (a lot like a group of flying monkeys). Scared her half to death. Morgan wasn’t happy either. We cats don’t like closed doors.
Sasha found a bunch of ants and made dinner out of them. She likes bugs. The peep says she’s going to make a garlic butter sauce for Sasha’s “protein dinners.”
From everyone here, enjoy your weekend! If you celebrate Easter, I hope your eggs have catnip in them.
Oh no! Glad Morgan got out of her drawer OK! Hope the peeps get all of their project items selected and can get back to regular treat distribution 😉

That’s the first time Morgan got enclosed somewhere she couldn’t get out. My old cat Mollie was the queen of that. My husband at to put a back on a cabinet because she would climb up the back and into the drawers. Crazy cats. Each one is different.

That is very true!

Inside a drawer! Oh my goodness me! They just can’t be trusted, can they, sneaking into the unlikeliest of places?

We have to do nose counts but that’s the first time in a long time that something like that happened.

OH dear , sorry Morgan. I am sure you got lots of TLC after that. I am sure that did give your peep quite a scare too!
Cute picture Gracie!
Happy Easter and have a wonderful weekend.

Poor Morgan – a drawer is no place for a kitty. And Gracie, you look like Rocky training for a big boxing match. Happy Easter to you as well Kate.

Like Rocky? I am big and strong (at 7 lbs.!).

Gracie, it’s all the rotisserie chicken making you big and strong yet you keep your girlish figure. Sigh.

That was a funny Morgan story. Be careful with the ants, Sasha. I read on another blog that ants upset her cat’s stomach.

She mostly only eats the moving ones. Mostly the peep is worried that she will eat the ones that were killed with spray. The peeps wipes them up right away. You know how cats are. Always eating what they shouldn’t.

Morgan will want lots of treats after her trauma. Hope you have a Happy Easter!

I wish my cats ate ants! They just seem to want to watch them scurrying around. So not helpful.

It hasn’t stopped the ants from being annoying! She doesn’t eat enough of them.

Yikes, so sorry Morgan was sequestered in a closed door room. Hope she is fully recovered. Here’s to loads of nip in your Easter basket.

She is recovered but she’s playing it up for treats.

I’m like Pix – always remember seeing “Wizard of Oz” on Easter for some unknown reason but flying monkeys gave me nightmares after seeing them on “Oz” until I decided they weren’t scary but instead were cute. Teddy says ants just don’t satisfy his needs for a snack but now that he knows (I “accidentally” mentioned that to him when I read it here……) he may add that to his snack repertoire.
Hugs, Pam

Hey peeps!
No harm done this time . . . but you better do a head count if you’re heading out for more than a couple of hours!
Signed,
Morgan, the Flying Monkey!

We do a head count before bed so no overnight stays.

I’m amazed there was no hollering or playing the bongos on the door. I have locked one or the other of the cats in the garage a time or two but they thought they have done something great by escaping so didn’t let me know. Generally, when I started cat-search, they wandered in like they were in no hurry.

She wasn’t in there long and she was snoozing. If she heard food rustling, there would have been noise.

Kate, this is funny this morning! Laughing… LAUGHING! I always think of flying monkesys on Easter because in the past they always aired Wizard of Oz on Easter Sunday on TV. The flying monkeys scared the sh$t out of me.
Good work, Sasha!
Happy Easter, Sassy Cats and Peeps!
* not laughing at Morgan… glad you found her even if she came out of there like a flying monkey!

I wondered how long it would have been before she started screaming! She was in maybe an hour or so probably napping.

Oh no! Poor Morgan. Glad someone opened the drawer.

This is the first time it’s happened to her. My old cat Mollie was the queen of hidey spots and often got closed. That’s when we started to do a nose count before bed time.

I accidentally closed the door between the storm and screen front doors on my cat Andy, once. I don’t know how long he was trapped there, but the poor kitty shredded the screen trying to get free.

That happened to a friend of mine. He was having a party so it wasn’t too long but the cat climbed the door and was batting at the door window. So funny.

It would be scary to be stuck behind a closed door you couldn’t open. Good thing your mom needed something and opened the door. Bet she checks the drawer before she closes the door next time.

She does, the male peep does not. We do nose counts before bedtime so it wouldn’t go on long. Also it was in the family room so if she had hollered we would have found her.
