I put out a project I needed to do on the dining room table. The next time I walked through I found this. Then the next time I walked through I saw this. That shot the afternoon. I’ll do the project tomorrow.
My husband made an ottoman out of wood to match the metal porch furniture. That white thing on top is a piece of foam. In the first picture, rear right you can see a fabric on the table. That is the material for the cover I’m making….as soon as the cats let me…
“Can’t come for a week, it would traumatize the cats!” “Can’t stay late. Cats need supper.” “Won’t work for me because of the cat’s schedule.” I use it all the time. I’m a bbaaaddd person.
Ray does much the same. I lay out papers etc on my bed so that I can sort, respond to, shred etc., and before I can get started, I have almost 80lbs of relaxed dog laying on top of everything! Tea time! 🙂
We know who rules the roost! 🙂

Yes. Good manners, at least mostly.

That the cat got in the way is not surprising. What I am trying to figure out is what this project was. ???

and I’m not going through that picket line! Project postponed until next week. I’ll have to distract them with catnip.

How funny. I’m trying to pack for a short trip and both of my cats are back there laying on my stuff.

Maybe they don’t trust it will be short….

They do not like anything different and seem to know what it means when a suitcase comes out.

Another theory: Cats like to feel confident that every spot in the house belongs to them, especially when you add something new.

Every spot does belong to them. No question about that.

That is so funny! Of course that’s where they want to be… up high, soft towel, in the way. Check, check, and check.

Yes I’m lucky they took turns and didn’t fight over the prime real estate.

We have no pets at the moment, so we need to perfect other forms of excuses. Any suggestions?

Yes, get a cat!

I need to start using my pets as excuses for stuff besides leaving parties early: “Nope, not up for another shot! Dog needs to be walked!”
Now it will be, “Couldn’t vacuum. Would have disturbed cat.”

Dy-ing! Obviously that footstool? needed to be on the dining room table. Cats have probably wanted it there a long time ago!

Yep, it’s an ottoman type thingie that my husband made for the porch. It needs a cushion. The cats think it’s a hut or a cave. Cool!

Best of all, they like to keep you out of things, away from things and totally unproductive!

The kitties must have thought you needed a little rest time. They are just looking out for you.

I’m more inclined to think that they wanted their scent on something new. Maybe a little fur too.

Yeah, probably…but that’s not as good a story.
