Sassy cats – Status quo

It’s all so exhausting!

There is a mouse here somewhere! I smell it!

Gracie here. The peeps were doing “peep” stuff most days so we were alone more than usual. To make up for it, the lady peep brought home two ginormous rotisserie chickens. She sure knows the way to my heart.

Gus and Sasha continue to be on “mouse duty” although nothing has showed up in the form of a mouse. “Mouse duty” is sitting in the basement staring at a corner or under something because it smells funny. You know, like a mouse. They sit perfectly still for hours and hope the dumb mouse will come out so they can scoop it up. Then the peep steals it from them and takes it back outside for the cycle to begin again.

Morgan’s contribution this week was to suggest “high tea” for all the cats. It wouldn’t be tea, of course but some tasty kibble followed by a little ‘nip to carry us over until dinner time. The peep vetoed that idea.  We tabled it for now, but it will be suggested again (and again…).

Morgan: Call me when high tea is ready!

Wishing you all a great weekend!

  1. Lovely Sassy Cat pictures that the Lady Peep has taken, Gracie. Two rotisserie chickens! Sounds good right now to me. Back in good old Missouri there was a little tea room that the gals in my family loved to go to. It was a special thing to do. I loved it. I think there are a few near us now… I should check them out. Having a cat version of high tea with nip and treats would be fun!

  2. Never had a mouse in the house…..BUT once upon a time in the early pre-dark morning – I made the BIG MISTAKE of opening the basement door and screen door to make a “quick” trip to the outside garbage can and was greeted on my return by a bat flying around in circles in the basement. He was not happy. I was not happy. I realized the problem was the lights were on in the basement……..I turned on the outside basement door light and turned out the inside lights and he flew out. I didn’t know that would get him out and not sure I know WHY it did, but it was my panic-reaction! I think I would have preferred a mouse.

    • We’ve had bats too. They are fairly easy to catch if you don’t freak out. I threw a towel over it and escorted it outside but you way was a lot easier.

  3. Do Gus and Sasha make house calls? I could be their agent. We have two in the laundry as we speak. I could swear one waved to me this morning. What do you mean will I split the commission? Will a rottisserie chicken do?

And please tell Morgan high tea is so civilized. Sounds like the Peep sent her to Finishing School. A hunch.
