Sassy cats – Pot Pourri

I wouldn’t even eat kibble, my all time favorite.

Gracie reporting. Interesting week here. The peep was on the warpath. Not with us cats although she wasn’t taking any nonsense from us either. I continued my wonky food drama. One day I wouldn’t eat anything. She kept yelling, “You’re not dying my watch! Eat, dang you! Eat!”

That never works. I ended up with a smorgasbord of three different kinds of wet food. I decided to eat the food that I have rejected for the last five years. It’s the stuff they fed me in the rescue before I came here. Suddenly it tasted good. I’ll eat it until I won’t. In the meantime, the peep must send the expensive cat food back. She’s not happy about that. Withdrawal from rotisserie chicken is painful. I wonder if they have meetings for it.

Sasha is ready to bolt at a moment’s notice.

The contractors are still here but not constantly so Sasha sneaks out from under the bed sometimes. She can hear when someone pulls in the driveway. She’ll make a beeline for the stairs making turns on her belly. Very amusing sight to see.

Morgan had the peep thinking she was eating potato chips. She gave her a couple and later found the chewed-up chips under the kitchen table. Morgan likes to lick off the salt, not eat the chip. It’s a potato. What cat would eat potatoes?

The peep keeps promising that next week will be a normal week (without contractors) but we don’t remember what that looks like.

Wishing you all a good weekend filled with rotisserie chicken!

  1. Chicken is good for you. You should be allotted at least one rotisserie chicken per week. My Rudy loves potato chips and Doritos and pretty much any people food. Have a nice weekend.

    • Only Morgan likes salty food and only the salt part. I think I should get one chicken a week too. The problem is that the peep says it takes time to debone and chop up for me. I only have 2 teefs.

  2. Gracie sounds a lot like my Lacy. Currently, we have 3 kinds of canned food and 2 kinds of kibble, and all she would eat is tube treats and Greenies. 🙄

    • Thanks. I am a delightful cat except for my eating (or not eating) habits. Then here is my need for a good brushing while the peeps wants to drink her morning mocha. Guess who wins that one! 🙂

  3. Oh my goodness…the food drama gets better with each week. You guys are something else. Here’s hoping the end is in sight as far as the contractors are concerned. Have a good weekend-hopefully it won’t be too hot.

  4. During my first marriage, we had a lovely cat – Pepper, who would lick the salt off of potato chips. Which I noticed but the hub did not. It was hard not to laugh when he wondered why the chips seemed to have gotten soggy overnight after he had left them out on the coffee table. 🤭 #sorrynotsorry #thatswhatyougetfornotcleaningupafteryourself

  5. Gracie, we haven’t had rotisserie chicken lately… I think we got bored with it. We switched to fried chicken from the Publix store. We take the crunchie delicious batter off so it’s a bit healthier but then we sneak some bites of the crunchies. I don’t know why we bother taking the best part of the chicken off. It was probably a wise choice for you to eat the food offered because I think your Peep means business about no fancy rotisserie chicken. The end of the contractors is so close… so very close!

  6. Gracie my friend, a piece of advice “don’t bite the hand that occasionally feeds you something edible” – that may sound a LITTLE familiar but I jazzed it up a bit just for you. I like to keep my Mom guessing when it comes to food. It’s what cats do (so I’m told). Anyway, I imagine all of you including your peeps can’t WAIT for the contractors to GO AWAY FOREVER. I know I would be – I’d be planning a big par-tay in fact!

    Hugs, Teddy

  7. Thanks for the update Gracie, and I am glad you started eating again. Your poor human needs a break. 🙂 I hope that all of you can enjoy having NO contractors in your house very soon and the restoration of sanity.

  8. Gracie, I so like your updates. Diane Sawyer is nowhere near as informative as you are.

As for your food issues, I’m a finicky eater too, so I get it. I’m constantly asked…don’t you eat? And my standard line, that you’re free to use is, yeah, on Thursdays. I know your Peep isn’t fat, but usually those that mock my eating are so I make sure they see a cinched waistline so I get the last laugh.

What a smart idea, just licking the salt off of chips. Does Morgan know a deer by any chance that made the suggestion? I think I’ll open a bag right now and just lick that salt. Tell Morgan, thanks for the tip.

Thanks Gracie. See ya next week.

    • The painter will come for minor fixes hopefully Monday but as far as I know, everything else should be completed today. Or they say it will. Sometimes that doesn’t happy but fingers crossed. I’ve already taken a stand that there will be no more dirt. If the painter has to sand any spackle, he will need to wet sand it. Today they are installing hooks, toilet paper holder, medicine cabinets and that type of thing. Plumbing wise, it’s functional.
