Gracie here. The peep chose to buy and plant petunias yesterday instead of posting my story. The woman has no sense of priorities (and I don’t have opposable thumbs).
She had a tough morning today. The other three cats came jumping on the bed at 6 a.m., bouncing on her bladder, kidney and boob to get to the window. It was quite a commotion. When she looked up there were three cats sitting on her nightstand (which doesn’t fit three cats) and lots of action going on – batting, meowing and tail twitching. There was a moth on the window. Sasha ate it (she loves bugs) but not before everyone got a swipe at it. Poor bug. Didn’t have a chance.
The food issues continue. The peep has started to feed Morgan in the closed bedroom so she can give her the regular food she likes and no one will steal it. That seems to work although one day the door didn’t catch, Sasha opened it up and ate Morgan’s breakfast. Nothing gets by Sasha.
Now only Sasha and Gus are eating that awful special diet. They eat together so they must eat the same thing or there would be hell to pay.
Before Morgan moved to the bedroom, she ate on the coffee table away from the other two, but it didn’t always work. Sasha would sashay (or strut, she never just walks) around the coffee table. Sometimes she would flip her tail in the dish while Morgan was eating. It usually ended like this even though the food was the same from the same can.
This is about the time the peep starts yelling “goldfish! I’m gonna trade you all in for goldfish!” That’s silly. Who would eat all those cases of food she has in the basement.
That’s the excitement for this week. The petunias are in the ground (there are no catnip plants!) and our tummies are full. New food plan started and everyone is healthy.

No post is complete without the lovers. Here Sasha is letting Gus know she’s the boss! Or maybe a comfy pillow for her foot.
Wishing you all a great weekend.

Meal times around your house are always an adventure. Good luck with the new regime/routine. Good luck with the plants. We have a soft freeze in the forecast so annuals won’t go in the ground until Memorial Day weekend.

I put the petunias in. They are protected even if we get a soft frost. There isn’t any in our long range forecast. I have deck rail boxes too but I haven’t bought those flowers yet. One step at a time. It’s that age thing.

Gracie, you are great at giving us the cats’ eye view of life in your house! Glad the petunias are in, and you all have a new food routine to learn 🙂

New food routine has been working for a week now. Sasha doesn’t get to eat Morgan’s food. She needs to learn manners. You don’t steal food. This isn’t the wild!

Fingers crossed she learns that! She seems pretty moochy though 🙂

Good word for her….moochy!

Gracie, you are the best reporter with your tell-all stories. Sorry no catnip was planted, but the flowers will look nice from your vantage point at the window, right?

Not as nice as the chipmunks and cats next door!

Gracie, it is very good news to hear the Lady Peep got petunias planted! Hopefully there will be pictures in the future. I am glad the food thing seems to be getting sorted out. Gracie, thanks for the photo of the lovers… so true that Sassy Cat Friday… even if it is Sassy Cat Saturday this week… is not complete without them!!!

I told the peep if she didn’t get her act together we would seek another set of opposable thumbs!

I got those DEEP purple petunias for one of my deck planter boxes – petunias are so reliable which is more than I can say for some other annuals. So the food wars are calming down a bit? Good! Hang in there Grace – you are apparently the voice (meow) of reason. Your Mom needs all the help she can get!!
Hugs, Pam and Teddy too

I’ve been getting the bubblegum petunias (supertunia vista variety). The bubblegum color is midpink (just like bubblegum!) and they are wonderful here. They get huge. My soil is a bit weird and there is a lot of rock and clay so watering is a must. I mostly do pots and deck boxes but I have petunias in the ground in the front of the house.

Good work on the petunias. I’m grateful for the perennials this year, as I haven’t had time to garden and my knee is injured. With all the rain the pink gladiolus are in beautiful form. No scent, but they look pretty!

I love gladiolus but they are work here. We have to dig up in the fall and replant in the spring.

Oh, yes, that would be a lot of work. We stay above freezing. I don’t even know where mine came from. I think we moved in during a drought and then they simply appeared after a seriously rainy winter years ago. And they have propagated like mad, as have the freesias.

I’m glad the food challenges are settling a bit. Each of our cats eats in their own location, including some behind closed doors! It wouldn’t work any other way. Glad you got your petunias planted before the rains. It was a gorgeous week, and next week looks good too, but it looks like a gloomy weekend in between. Glad I have kittens to play with.

One issue with Morgan is that she’s a grazer. She likes to eat a bit, go potty and come back to finish. You can’t do that with Sasha around. For the last couple days, Morgan has been finishing her food before walking away so that works.

Cats do sometimes adjust to our or the group’s needs! Good for Morgan.

It was adjust or starve. The grays will not fight for food. Once in a while Gracie will bop Sasha on the head but most of the time, they let her eat their food then yell for more.

Ah, Miss Gracie, you live with a lot of naughty kitties. I see that you were a saint, however, and caused your peep no stress at all. I think your peep may need a special diet. Not knowing all her preferences I will just suggest lots of chocolate.

She likes her chocolate in coffee. If she didn’t have a mocha every day, she’d be downright grumpy!
