Gracie here. All the cats are healthy (at the moment) but the peeps are a little nuts. They are hosting family tomorrow (Saturday) and the lady peep’s neurosis has kicked in big time. Common stuff you hear includes:
Will it rain?
Do we have enough food?
Is the Canadian fire smoke still rolling in?
Will it rain?
It’s enough to make a cat nuts. If the cat food cabinet is full and there is catnip, nothing else matters.
There was a bright side to the week. A rotisserie chicken made an appearance and I got a good chunk of it. The peep was afraid I’d revert to only eating rotisserie chicken, but I haven’t…yet.
Sasha has staked out her hidey spot. The rest of us will roll with it, trying to sneak a peak at the visitors. Too bad the peep isn’t serving rotisserie chicken.
Have a great weekend and hope you find yourself a good hidey spot. Here are some pics for you!

Good to hear from you Gracie! Hope you all survived the reunion OK, it didn’t rain, and you got a little more rotisserie chicken 🙂

I hope your reunion went well, and the cats, especially Sasha, survived the ordeal!

It did go well. Sasha survived but after a couple weeks of not barfing, Gracie had a few. Maybe it was the commotion that upset her system.

Oh Gracie…so challenging when you can’t find the cause.

Wishing for a wonderful reunion get-together…with great weather, decent air quality and no hiccups.

so far…heavy fog from fires (hiccup), robin sitting on eggs in patio area (hiccup). There is still time but I know from experience that if the people are in a good mood nothing else matters. Well, maybe for mama robin.

Then good moods all around (I hear tequila helps in that regard). Have fun and enjoy the family. Maybe have a naming contest for the eggs of the robin eggs to start up the fun?

Enjoy the reunion! I hope everything is PERFECT – food, weather AND cats!!!
Hugs, Pam

The latest crisis is that the robin laid eggs in a nest above the area where guests will sit. Oy vay! Not sure how that will play out. Hope they don’t abandon the nest as starting tomorrow no one will be down there again! With critters it’s always something.

I hope the cats cooperate ALL weekend and stay out of mischief! And I really hope to hear that the Family Reunion is a big success. I’m sure it will be a wonderful time for all. Enjoy the family and try not to work too hard, Kate! 🙂

Our haze meter was 150 today – it got to 212 yesterday and the day before. Hope it doesn’t rain for you. After three weeks with no rain, we are now in week three with rain and smoke. We have a storm rolling in tonight and also Saturday and Sunday, then even more stinking hot. Sasha looks like she is giving Gus a push with one foot. 🙂 Gracie is in her glory with rotisserie chicken. Hope your reunion goes well since you are the “hostess with the mostest” this year.

This summer is a peculiar one. No rain for tomorrow!

Good going – how did you manage that? (It makes up for the Robins debacle.)

It’s Saturday morning here and it sure looks like rain. Maybe, maybe not. Momma Nature needs a good smack.

Hope your shindig stayed dry …. we have a totally rainy/stormy day – yesterday was stormy all afternoon/evening. I will buckle down and do housework again today. Me thinks we all protested too much about the drought!

The day turned out dry and nice. It was cloudy which helped make it not too hot. I’ll stop complaining. Maybe.

You’re lucky you didn’t have our weather today – we’re soon going to have storm #3 and another one overnight and had torrential rain for an hour. Glad it all worked out for you.

We were supposed to have rain today but it didn’t materialize although there was a tornado watch.

Thank goodness for that – the rain is better than a tornado watch – we’ve had too many of those lately.

Latest weather report shows NO rain for tomorrow. It’s coming on Sunday which works for me!

At least if it rains the smoke will be washed away for a bit?

The smoke isn’t too bad. It’s orange alert instead of red and there is visibility. Currently it looks like no rain for tomorrow (but that can change on a dime!).

Hope the reunion is a smashing success . . . and not a soggy mess.
With lots of good food . . . and lots of good moods.

May the rain gods be kind to you (and may they send any extra moisture our way). Have fun at your get together!

We were very dry. Now we are very saturated. I’d like normal (whatever that is). I’ll send our next rain clouds your way! We have moved things around in our basement to accommodate rain. It will be very peopley.

No, Gus likes to be in the mix of things. He doesn’t like hiding under beds when there is a chance of food being dropped.

Abandoned by his girl when guests come? Well, at least Sasha know how to cope. She’ll have to share her man, I guess! I hope it all works out.

It did. I didn’t see Gus at all so he may have been comforting her.
