Sassy cats — Back ends

Sometimes it’s what’s outside that is more interesting. Maybe too much hunkering down?

Morgan checking on the neighbors. She is sure there is something shady going on there!

Gracie napping in the porch.

Everyone here hopes you get to enjoy the great outdoors this weekend.

  1. A.B.C. – Years ago I read that we must always be curious to stay engaged. Where did I read that? I Googled around and it was Einstein that said โ€œThe important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality.” As for napping, now that is a different story … I worked out in the yard and logged in 17 hours over the weekend. I pulled weeds, gripped the pruners, and hauled 25 bags of mulch around – I nodded off both Saturday and Sunday nights at around 8:30 and my fingers hurt. Gardening I decided is for much younger legs, but it looks presentable now, but made me 4 days behind in Reader. I am slowly catching up and trying to beat a bad storm headed our way. I was secure in the knowledge that my boss was on vacation all this week – easy to read and catch up, but a client emergency had him return to the office two days later – yikes … we have had nothing to do of substance for two months, so this had to crop up. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Sounds like you had a very productive few days. I fall asleep earlier when I work outside. Combination of more physical work and all that sunshine! Feels good as long as I don’t have to do it every day.

      • I did get a lot done Kate and lugging all that mulch around, even my fingers hurt. It does feel good to finish a big project like that and I usually do it on Memorial Day weekend so I try to get in at least one afternoon to relax a little. It was too hot here on the long weekend and Memorial Day holiday was early this year and I didn’t want re-growth. I made that mistake once – never again.

  2. We have had one of the driest and sunniest springs on record and we are finally allowed out to meet friends or family in the park so things are looking up.

  3. We are looking outside more too! Definitely agree that hunkering down inside allows me to focus outside. We’re learning car ways, linger in a sunny window and observe baby birds. Enjoy your weekend!

    • There are short people next door. They make loud squeaky noises and I like to watch them. Even better though, there is a new bird’s nest with eggs and a sitting mama in the cherry laurel right outside the screening. We all love to watch. We are very protective and would love to give her a lick but the peeps won’t let us.

  4. We will have a muggy, humid, rainy, yucky day today and Saturday but Sunday promises great things….I’ll believe it when I see it! Meanwhile, love the photos – I think we’re all (like our cats) spending a lot of time staring out into space. I do that when I’m on my front porch in my rocking chair – hours at a time. It’s my “thinking place” !! Have a super Friday and weekend.

    Hugs, Pam

    • Sasha is getting too big to fit on anything. She has almost doubled her weight in the year she’s been here. Chow hound. Gracie takes the best sleeping pictures. She’s always contorted in some fashion!
