Morgan joined the household in 2013. I was told she was about a year old but was more like six months. She was wherever she shouldn’t be and fearless. She doesn’t know she only has one eye and it has never affected her ability to get into trouble. It has, on occasion, gotten her out of trouble.
She ran all day but when she was tired she fell over and slept a deep sleep. So lucky!
She slept in any position. For hours! She liked to snuggle with some stuffed animals scattered around the house.
Here she is today. At a vet check earlier this week she weighed 12-1/2 pounds, up from the 7 pounds she weighed when she got here. She takes more naps than she used to but she’s still a very active cat. She will be five sometime this summer. How fast it goes.
12.5 pounds? Wow, she is a big girl. I have one about her size and I can hardly pick her up. My other is small and only 7 pounds even though they are close to the same age.

She is a very tall and long cat. She’s built like a model, long, sleek and lanky. My 7 pounder is adorable and has this belly on her. I have a 15 pounder that is clearly overweight. She round and roly-poly and hard to pick up.

Funny how different in size as well as personality they can be.

A long tailed cat in front of a rocking chair?
That’s one brave kitty!

That’s in an upstairs bedroom that no one uses. Like many pet families, I don’t get rockers or anything that’s harmful to cats. People are on their own.

Love the pictures, especially the one of her on her back. Looks carefree! We humans can learn a lot from her! 🙂

That’s from last year so she was definitely past kittenhood. She’s quite the character and gives Gracie a run for her money.

Morgan is one happy cat!!! What a sweet heart. I wonder how they thought she was a year when she was just a baby! Perry was calculated to be two years old, but I knew that was way too old for him. And he is still a bit of a baby: he likes to rip up paper :).

I don’t know how the shelter did the calculating. My vet thought she was closer to 6 to 9 months because of her weight. Kittens put on a pound a month so at 7 lbs. she’d be around 7 months give or take. However, Gracie, who they think is 2 to 4, only weighs 7 lbs. She’s either a small cat or a young cat who hasn’t grown yet.

I imagine it’s harder to tell with her from her behavior because of her difficulties with her eye loss.

She’s acts like a very young cat. Very playful. Doesn’t nap much but she’s just a couple months out of the shelter environment.

That is what happened with Kana although she was eight when I got her. She was very playful and a little wild and couldn’t settle down. Now she is a boring old thing, just lying around on her tree all day ;). And adorable.

I wanna sleep like that. Actually, I’d like my dog to sleep like that. And past 5 AM in the morning, especially on weekends.

Right now I don’t have any cats that wake me up in the morning. Occasionally Mollie will do an “are you awake? I need a scratch” at 3 a.m. but not lately.

Morgan sure did fall into the right home! I can tell by her sleep of the untroubled.

We were lucky. When you are adopting because of a disability you aren’t looking for a behavior match. We were very lucky. All the cats love her.

Animals adapt quickly to whatever changes life brings, don’t they? Only humans moan about them–LOL!

Yes. I have a friend who says animals are more philosophical about life. Adjust and move on.

What I’d give to be able to sleep like that! She is a beauty both inside and out.

She is and a great cat. I only adopted her because I was afraid no one else would. I was rewarded with a beauty.

I love your posts on Morgan! She is a character. The picture of her in the sink with the little tomatoes tickles me! So happy she landed in your home… I know you have heard that before from me… 🙂

I have 4 cats and each is very different. None are like Morgan. She’s happy, healthy, friendly and sweet. She’s not a lap cat but she will come sit on the computer (or as close to it as she can) when I’m working.

Love her sleeping positions. I would suggest that she is one very happy cat… thanks to you! 🙂

I have 30 pictures of her sleeping in various positions. It’s when she’s the most still so picture taking is easier. She is a happy cat but I think it’s her nature. She would be happy just about anywhere.

She is beautiful, that first picture told you all you needed to know about her personality. The eye didn’t affect her. Here’s to many more years of pleasure from her!

We adopted Gracie, our other one-eyed gray cat because of Morgan and she’s totally different. She has visual judgement issues but she’s made of rubber so she bounces off walls and goes on her way. In contrast, Morgan can leap up to the mantle (5′) without missing a step.
