Sassy cats – The nap that almost wasn’t

Sasha: This is a wonderful sleeping position!

Sasha the magnificent here. It’s been a good week. The peep changed around my breakfast routine, and I didn’t barf all week but I’m not promising anything. Sometimes the urge just comes on, and my breakfast is on the carpet in a gruelly mess. For now we were good.

The peep tried to take a nap in the middle of the day this week. She said just a short one to rejuvenate her. (Ha! Her short naps can take an hour and a half!) When she went to lie down, Gus decided to join her (for medicinal reasons). He likes to spoon so he tucked in next to her chest. When I jumped on the bed and surveyed the remaining space, I decided the best spot for me was between Gus and the peep. It’s where I belong.

As I jiggled and juggled to fit in there, Gus got nudged and annoyed. He got up and decided to try the pillow next to her head. Seemed like a good idea except his butt was next to her face. This didn’t make her happy. I smelled his butt and it was just fine. Smelled like Gus. I don’t know how people can tell each other apart if they don’t smell butts. That didn’t work.

More jiggling around. Before you know it, I decided the best place was not touching the peep but lying on the other side of the bed. Gus gave up the whole idea and went to find a sunspot. That sounded like a great idea, so I joined him. The peep had to nap alone. I felt kinda bad for her, but she seemed pretty happy about the whole thing.

Gus and I are ready for a good snooze!

Here’s wishing you a nice buttfree weekend!
