Sassy cats – Cat days of summer!

This is our view for birdwatching. You are seeing a reflection of the loveseat in the window. Yes, that is the pesky squirrel on the bird feeder!

Sasha the magnificent here. Not much going on. The peep had two doc appointments this week. That makes her cranky. She survived. More importantly, there were no vet visits. She tells Gus he must get his stinky breath checked out. Gus responds by giving her a big stinky smooch and hopes she forgets about it. He had a dental a year ago so it’s not yellow teeth. She just hopes it’s not something else.

Sometimes we sit on the window sill to get a closeup of the birds on the deck. Gus’s butt barely fits but my delightful derriere fits just fine!

We cats like this time of year. The worst of the heat is sort of over, so the sliding door gets opened and we can sniff through the screen. Sometimes the upstairs window is open too. We also watch the birds from the back of the loveseat. If I scream loud enough, there will be an extra snack. Mr. Squirrel makes a daily visit and that’s fun too. We get just enough rain to make things green again.

Gotta go! Nap time!

It’s a great time to be a cat. Have a great weekend.

  1. The Peep’s flowers are beautiful – please be sure to tell her that Sasha. Even with your fur, your derriere is more petite than that of your main squeeze. The squirrel is teasing you and Gus … he goes where you two are looking out the window … clever fellow. :) I’ve seen picture of feeders where the squirrel twirls round and round. You two would be endlessly entertained! I hope Gus is okay with his teeth. Too many fish dinners?

    • Last week there was a chipmunk on the feeder. The peep thought he was cute. He could almost crawl into the feeding holes! Gus can’t eat fish because of his urinary issues so he’s strictly on chicken and beef. He doesn’t like turkey which would be ok. The peep is worried the stink is coming up from his stomach but he doesn’t seem to be in distress. In fact his zoomies are pretty awesome!

      • I hope Gus is okay … if his zoomies are awesome, he must be feeling great, right? I wish we had chipmunks around here. My friend’s husband likes to cook and bake and they were going to a Christmas party a few years ago and her hubby had made chocolate candy-like desserts that afternoon for them to take to the party. They have a screened-in porch and he put the finished ones on trays to cool. They have lots of chipmunks in their neighborhood and they feed them. The chipmunks saw the treats, tore through the screen and feasted on them. When John went to get the treats and put them in containers, they were gone, just crumbs and a big mess. He was not amused and said “no more feeding the chipmunks!”

  2. Sasha, have a question. Did Gus start smoking again? I know he gave it up, at least that’s what he told the Peep. Can you somehow slip in an order for Certs on the Peep’s grocery list? Just be discreet. And one more thing, Gus’s big butt is all muscle remember. I don’t think you’d like a puny brother to nap with. Be nice. See ya next week. Your Friend and admirer, Susannah

  3. Great photos……we hope Gus’s teeth are AOK – maybe a gum issue? I get cranky too when I have two doc/medical appointments on one day. I try very hard NOT to let that happen when I’m scheduling stuff. One trauma a day is my limit. Considering Summer has been a bit weird we’re starting to wonder what to expect when Fall arrives….or maybe in this case “ignorance is bliss”….

    Hugs, Pam
