Sassy cats – Sentimental memories and happy together!

Morgan and the peep

It’s me, Sasha the magnificent! We had a “sad” this week. When Morgan left us, the vet gave us a small bundle of her fur. The peep is not a sentimental person. She has nose prints but keeps Morgan and the rest of the cats in her heart. The peep put the fur out for the birds to use for their nests. It was the best repurposing.

A long time ago, the peep brushed Jake (her last outdoor-indoor cat) and there was a pile of fur in the yard. She later found it lining a mouse nest. Made her smile. She wasn’t sure if Jake would be happy to help or if he would have liked to chase those little mousies! I would vote for chasing!

It was a snuggly week for Gus and me.

Gus was sleeping and I climbed on top for a snooze.

Yes I know there are two other beds on this ledge but it’s nicer to be with Gus.

Wishing you all a great weekend!

      • I always think a fireplace is so cozy and nice on these colder evenings. We are still having snow showers off and on and will get an inch of snow on Thursday. Tuesday we have severe weather again as we have a heat spike. It is wild temperature swings all the time now. I’ve never felt so unsettled about the weather as these last few years.

          • We now have rain every day until Easter. That’s messing with my walking regimen, but at this point, I had nothing scheduled and I just hope this severe weather Monday night thru Tuesday night fizzles out. The one inch of snow will melt. It’s much too early for all this severe weather.

              • Tonight through Tuesday night – 24 hours of storms, all fueled by this heat … it got to 72 degrees and its still 70 now at almost 8:00 p.m. This is the 8th or 9th bout of severe weather in March. I’m sure each storm knocks another few months off my life.

                  • Agreed! We had Part 1 of our severe weather and the weather folks are saying since it’s still raining it may lessen the Part 2 more severe weather. That would be great. We’re back to cold tomorrow, then warm Thursday with more storms. I long for gentle Spring days like happened when I was stuck inside for school or work.

                    • Yes, after a long and cold Winter. The first day you don’t need a jacket feels terrific. Here Opening Day has a high absenteeism rate too. It’s probably the same for your baseball teams. Around the ballpark, people go anyway for the ambiance, even if they don’t have tickets. One year we had snow coming down hard during the day, but they didn’t stop it and kept on playing! Since we have rain every day for a week, every Accuweather radio forecast this week they talk about this Friday’s weather.

    • First cats here that have done that ever! It’s mostly instigated by Sasha. She’s a lovey cat. When I adopted her, they said she was from a feral community and wouldn’t be a lap cat. They were wrong. She’s skittish of new people but she will snuggle with us and mostly with Gus. If she’s on my lap and Gus comes in, she drops me like a day old bagel!

  1. We love the repurposing of Morgan’s fur. That’s so preciously sweet. I kept fur from Sam, Norman and Elsa and put it in clear glass ornaments. Maybe I should try to find a clever repurpose. I think they all would appreciate that. Wishing you and the lovers a wonderful weekend.

  2. We still get ashes of those who have passed in our crew, but no more footprints, fur, etc. Like you said, they live in our hearts. Sasha and Gus are adorable as always.
