Sasha reporting. Here in the US, today is national boom-boom day when people freak out dogs with fireworks. Fortunately, us cats aren’t reactive. At least not to fireworks, houseguests are another thing! It’s quiet now but it will get noisy later. We are preparing in the only way we know!
Bring on the catnip!

My last two furbabies, Tyler and Trinity did not like the fireworks so we didn’t go see them much while we had them. If we did, we left the TV and the HEPA filter on and all the cell shades pulled to attempt to help with the sound. I wish that people dragged it out for days, just went to one big one for an hour and called it done. Happy for you that yours don’t mind it.

Dogs seem to be more sensitive to the noise. I’ve never had a cat that reacted although the fireworks are never nearby.

We did except that Sasha barfed her breakfast on the carpet.

Sasha – good thing cats are above running away or hiding when they hear neighborhood fireworks. I’m surprised you can’t hear our fireworks several states away … we had a torrential rainstorm around 6:00 p.m. so I’m glad the ground is wet, but it did not stop people from setting off fireworks the very minute the rain stopped. It sounds like a war zone out there.

Silly dogs…
We’ve been hearing a lot of “private” firecracker noise lately. I really hope it dies down after tonight. Not sure why anyone is compelled to shot off firecrackers long into the night.
Happy 4th to the kitties and the peeps!

I don’t know either. Noise and people seem to go together.

That snoozing all looks so peaceful. I may just join them from over here on my couch!

Booms have been happening here for days. Never mind wildfire season or the chunk of LA that fire already decimated this year. At least one municipality nearby opted for a drone show this year. So much better for pets and wildlife.

I like the idea of a drone show. So much safer all the way around. Every year a local hand surgeon has an article in the paper about fireworks injuries. Yikes! It’s scary enough to get me not to ever use them. It’s one holiday that he is on call for every year.

The picture of Independence Day hand x-rays is very disturbing. Also painfully indicative of human intelligence (or the lack thereof).

Alcohol mixed with fireworks is not a good combo!

Enjoy those naps-us dogs will be huddled in the corners, panting our heads off. Hope you guys have a good weekend.

We are very sad for the dogs and other animals that don’t understand.

I would extend that to lots of veterans and folks who suffer from PTSD. It’s a shame people think you have to make a lot of noise in order to be patriotic. 👿

Dear Sasha, hope you’re not planning spending the day under the bed. I urge you to be a little bit more social. Gus can be your date. If he says no, bribe him. Always works for me, and men no matter if they’r wearing tails or have one, are all the same. Trust me.
Happy 4th.

Nope, not under the bed. At least not yet. I’m on the windowsill overlooking my realm!

The peep said she gave me extra gravy but I’m not believing it. She’s miffed because I barfed my breakfast on the rug this morning. It gave her something to do.

You know Sasha, you could TRY to be a little less snarky, I mean she’s awfully nice to you. Someone else might put you in the corner with gum on your nose.

I think the Sassy Cats have the right idea! Sasha, it’s good you, Gus and Morgan are oblivious to the booms and pops. I hope all of you, including the Peeps, have a nice 4th of July. We are getting tons of rain thanks to some kind of tropical something… been going on since Wednesday. The weather dudes know what it is but they don’t know where it’s going and how long it’s going to hang around.
Sooooo, Happy 4th of July!!!
