It’s the peep today. Gus is busy overseeing his kingdom outside the window. Neighbor cats have to watched to ensure there is no intrusion on his property. Sasha is looking for someone to clean her face and Morgan is in a breakfast food coma. That sums up this week. Nothing unusual or exciting. We’re all waiting for spring when the door gets cracked open a bit to smell the outdoors.
This week the two neighbor cats came up on the deck deeply offending the resident cats. The visitors wanted to check out the bird feeder (or more commonly known as an interactive cat toy).
Since I’ve had my spiffy new cell phone, my pictures are fabulous. Ok, maybe not fabulous but certainly better. This morning I realized I have 87 thousand pictures of cats (and yes some are blurred and some are just tails) so I tried to delete duplicates. It’s a lot like when you are getting a refraction at the eye doc. Is this one better or this one better. (Don’t get me started on the red and green dots!) Can’t really tell. Very stressful! Eventually I gave up. Here is this week’s crop of photos.

Gus got the heating pad this round. Sasha prefers the basket. I think she gets too hot sometimes. Cat version of heat flashes!

Morgan (and the TV) has always preferred to sit on high. She is the cat that would jump on the mantle and throw things off if she thought the display wasn’t quite right.

Yes, this is Sasha sitting on my Kindle. She’s a literary cat. She’ll sit on newspapers, books and any electronic device she can fit her booty on.
We all wish you a great weekend. In our area, we are expecting mild spring temperatures next week. The really mild ones. Finally!
Beautiful pictures of your beautiful cats 🙂 I can only imagine the offendedness when intruders got on your deck! I hope all the sensibilities are recovered 😉

Those are great shots, Kate. Wishing all Peeps and all Cats a wonderful week ahead!

Thanks. It’s easier with my phone because I usually have it nearby. They don’t keep a pose while I go search for my camera!

I start to delete photos . . . then second guess myself . . . then abandon my quest. 😀

I think the button woke up feeling impish again. Technology has a mind of it’s own.

Yes it did -as I was doing my post today, it kept closing out on me. I had that happen before and I save, save, save, but it wiped out the explanation about ghost bikes. I didn’t realize that in my final proof and wondered why people kept asking me what a ghost bike was.

Kate, your pictures are fabulous, especially when you catch those magical rays of light through the cat’s ears or coming through the window and onto a sunny spot on the floor. At first glance as I saw Morgan’s picture, there appeared to be a crack on the ledge and looked like it might crack in two … then I realized it was a plant. No worries – carry on Morgan. We are also turning a corner next week with almost 70 on Tuesday – that’s not normal and I’m not putting away the Winter gear just yet.

We will be hovering close to 70 too! It’s a little early for the Maypole dance but I’m tempted. There is a tall skinny vase with vine looking branches to the side of the TV. That’s what you see.

I’ll make the most of it for sure. I have a lot of steps to make up for this first 2 1/2 months of 2025. Okay, the vine was so skinny it resembled a crack.

Love the picture of Morgan. He has a man about town look about him. And I agree that the pictures all around are great. Spring called. She’ll be here soon. She told me to tell you. 🙂

Well…except Morgan is a lady cat and is offended that she gave you a masculine vibe. She’s on the phone with her therapist as I type.

Oh no. Well, Katharine Hepburn comes to mind tell her. I’m calling Harry and David t right now to sent Morgan a basket of chicken wings. Hope she’ll forgive me. sigh

Super photos of the gang but your photos even with the old phone were always fab – maybe the cats are just so adorable they ALWAYS look GREAT! We’re anxious for Spring too……it’s been a crummy Winter and it just keeps “hangin’ on” !

We don’t have the screened porch here but I will open the sliding door in kitchen eating area and they sit there and smell the air!

I think of the cat fur around, but I don’t believe they shed like a dog does!

Oh I think they do. I vacuum close to 2 quarts of cat fur every week.

‘Interactive cat toy’ – you crack me up, Kate. Enjoy a calm, no drama weekend. And yes, your photos are fabulous! I have over 10,000 images (mostly of dogs and flowers) and periodically go through and cull them on my laptop (since everything at the Ranch is Apple based). I also tag them with key words to make finding them easier than scrolling through that many when I need a specific one for the blog). It’s a slow slog but it makes life easier for the ADHD crazy going on in my brain. 😉

I keep a file for each cat on my desktop but with the camera, I only downloaded good shots. With the cell I will take several of the same pose and can’t decide which is best until I put into photoshop.

Apple has a fair editor (on the laptop-not sure it’s as comprehensive on the phone) and can even remove extraneous stuff like errant trash or power lines. It beats dealing with another piece of software so I’ll have enough space for another 10,000 photos. 😆

I’ve been amazed to find that it does photo galleries off each individual pet even though I don’t tag or name them on the pictures. My phone amazes me every day. Last week it gave me a collection of barf photos I took of Gracie when we were trying to figure out what was wrong. That was not pretty!

I always thought Sasha’s coat was closer to black than gray, but it looks lighter in that last photo. Photo quality is definitely improved.

It is a dark shiny black. No gray at all. I love her expression but was disappointed that her fur didn’t come out as planned.

Status quo is good. Nothing miserable to report. And we’re looking forward to warmer days here too. Your new photos, on my phone, are very elongated, like the carnival mirrors that make you look super long and tall. Just fine on my laptop though. Interesting.

Kate, those truly are some great pictures! I think I buy an iPhone just for the picture taker included. I don’t even use it as a phone. Nobody wants to talk—just text. Call me crazy but I like to hear a voice now and then! Wishing the Sassy Cats and their Peeps a wonderful weekend!

My old cell took terrible pics so I only used it when I was in bind (like out without my camera). This new one is great and easy to use too.
