First a PSA: Rachel from Three Chatty Cats (don’t be fooled by the title — she has four chatty cats!) posted about the California wildfires. She gives links to places you can donate. Since I’m a sucker for animals, my donation went to the Pasadena Humane Society who are doing their best. Best Friends is also on the ground there. If you are inclined to donate in other ways there are other links too.
This past week was about photo ops. I have a hundred blurred noses and tails but I did get a few that aren’t too bad.

This was Gracie’s office bed. Gus has mostly taken it over but occasionally he shares with Sasha and no they really don’t fit but it doesn’t seem to matter.

With the cold weather I plugged in the cat heating pad. It was another Gracie bed but Sasha as found it comfy.
The crew has been asking for a board meeting to voice concerns (probably about snacks, food, and lack of catnip). Here are Sasha and Gus staking out the board room (aka powder room) in preparation.
Morgan is afraid you will forget her so she promised to take a good pic to post.
No Friday is complete without these two in the basket.
Wishing you all a great (and fire free) weekend.

Thanks for the links to assist. I knew you’d have them posted.
(And paw waves to the furry lovelies!)

Most are blurry butts and tails. Them seem to be confused on what their good side is.

Many thanks for posting that PSA. I’ve been sharing posts on my Facebook page. The images of California are just heartbreaking and staggering in the depth of the range and how quickly the fires spread.
Such adorable pics of the kitties. Stay warm and safe this weekend.

All adorable. What would we do without the love and snuggles of Sasha and Gus!!!

On a particularly bad day, they perk me up with their antics.

It’s a great perk of having cats!

Does Morgan ever feel like the third wheel among Gus and Sasha? Or do they include her in their cuddles?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Morgan doesn’t want to be a part of that nonsense although she will sleep on the bed with them (not touching anyone). Gracie was the real loner. The other three are often in the same room just not touching Morgan who will head womp them if they try.

Ha! Good for Morgs for being clear about what she wants!

They all are. Head womps are the universal “no” message in this house.

I have been watching a lot of videos about the fire on Twitter/X as I don’t have TV and I am just amazed at the devastation. A cameraman and reporter caught a woman’s reaction as she returned to her neighborhood. She stood there with her hand clapped to her mouth and shaking her head in disbelief. She pointed to all the neighbors’ homes, similarly reduced to ashes. So very heartbreaking. She was not a young woman and spoke of spending Christmas at her home with her grown grandchildren just a few weeks ago. Thank you for the links – yes, the pets, like during hurricanes, who are evacuated but separated from families, or sadly the families’ new housing situations will not include pets. We have a Red Cross crew here that goes to disaster zones and collects pets and brings them here until they are able to reunite with their owners.

We got pets here from the south during the hurricanes too. Usually they empty the shelters with the adoptables, so they can house pets displaced by the disaster in hopes that their owners can find them locally.

I always hope that the owners can find their pets again – bad enough they lost everything else, but beloved pets too would be more devastating. I went to Best Friends from your links you gave us and made a donation. I know lots of individuals and companies are ordering through Amazon to be sent directly to California areas that were destroyed, but, like you I liked the idea of helping the animals.

Very sad about the fires. Adorable photos. I love seeing the snugglers.

The fires are so tragic. Last night I saw a small herd of moose (?) coming down into a town. So incredibly sad.

I always love pictures of the snugglers, it does my heart good.
Thanks for posting about the fires and ways to donate. There is so much need up in LA, and it won’t go away when the next news cycle finds something else to highlight. I have a friend who lost her home… how does one recover from that?

I don’t know. They lose all those possessions that give them peace. It’s like a war torn country. I can’t understand that either.

No way Morgan could ever be forgotten! But she is a quiet little girl. Love the Sassy Cat photos♥ They really are some great pictures, Kate. Got some good lighting and it is interesting that there may be a board meeting. Those are some legitimate concerns. I will be heading to Rachel’s blog for the links. It is a hearbreaking situation. I can’t imagine.

I saw a film of a man whose whole house was ablaze when a fireman ran out of it with the man’s cat. The guy was so overwhelmed with gratitude that his cat was rescued he sobbed falling to his knees. I sobbed too. Thanks for the places to donate.
And I too love your photographs.

That would be me. I’m sure a lot of animals lost their lives.

Just now I saw a wounded dog being rescued by a man and oh Kate, I sobbed. There must be so many.

Thanks for posting the link! It’s been a really rough week in SoCal. Even those of us who are physically okay are definitely not mentally okay. Every little bit of kindness and support are appreciated.

We saw Rachel’s post…..the fire is totally devastating to man and beast and thankfully there are ways to help BOTH. Love the photos of your gang – let us know about the Board Meeting – is a insurrection a possibility??! Love the snugglers.
Hugs, Pam

Board meetings get rowdy with 3 cats (with beefs) and one peep in a powder room. The last did not end well.

Good shots. Thanks for providing links for donations.
Does Morgan interact much with those two snuggle bugs . . . or is she a loner?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Mostly a loner and she does her own thing. Last night she was with Gus in front of the fireplace but she won’t snuggle. Sometimes Sasha rubs against her for face wash and Morgan will oblige for a while.

Sasha, who is the most photogenic, is the most difficult. Getting her with her eyes open is challenging. Or without a blur.

Sasha just likes controlling absolutely everything. Tis her nature. She’ll let you get a photo when she feels like it!
