Gracie here. It was an awesome week! I had a great adventure. The peep calls us “indoor only” cats. We have no desire to go outside. We don’t try to sneak out when the door is open. We have a great gig and we know it. It’s scary out there but that doesn’t mean we don’t like to check it out once in a while.
The peep was doing “stuff” on the deck. She was going in and out and left the sliding door open. Then she forgot it was open and did something else. I thought it was a sign from above that it’s time for an adventure. It may be a portal to heaven or…maybe….Narnia.
I stepped out on the deck. It’s full of flowers. I checked and there was no catnip. What kind of garden is it without catnip? It smelled good out there, not like Gus’s poopy butt and peep farts. It smelled like bird sweat and squirrel poop. I could smell the bird nest underneath. All good. I walked around a while checking it out. Then I decided to call for my maid.
The extreme wealthy have bells to summon their help. I have a good set off lungs. I hollered loudly. The peep came running but couldn’t find me (she was looking in my favorite spots in the house). Then she noticed the open door. I was sitting in the middle of the deck yodeling. It was to let the cats next door know I was out.
As she came to the door, she called me back in. I said, “What? Are you freaking kidding me? When will I get out here again?” That did not make her happy.
I wasn’t running away, just smelling the sunshine. There was a hint of deer in the air. It was good. After a while I strolled back into the house and the peep shut the screen door. She said I had to do my smelling through the screen. Boogers. I needed a nice nap anyhow. Tomorrow is another day!
Wishing you all a great adventure this weekend!

Miss Gracie! I’ve been meaning to tell you how much I enjoy your storytelling and typing abilities. Miss Zoe’s spelling is atrocious and her computer skills are primarily limited to shrinking youtube to postage stamp size and re-orienting the window by 90 degrees. Neither is useful and if I let her teach you how to do things that I didn’t even know could be done (no less un-done) your Peep would chase us down with a stick.
Narnia looks beautiful but please don’t scare your Peep like that again!

I can do crazy things with the screen. I’ve also hit the delete button as I traipsed across the keyboard. Fortunately there is an undo button!

Who wouldn’t like to visit that lovely oasis? Well, for a little time…catnip absence is so unnatural!
Glad you got a tour, Gracie.

It’s just wrong not to have a pot of catnip there. The peep says it would attract the neighbor’s cats and that wouldn’t make us happy.

That was a big adventure, Gracie! I am glad you enjoyed smelling all the smells, but even gladder you are back inside and safe!

I am too. It’s nice out there but I like my soft bed and everlasting bowl of kibble.

The portal to Narnia is really beautiful and I can understand why you’d like to spend more time there, Gracie. If you ask nicely next time maybe the Peeps can invite you again for a little visit. Seems like you caused a lot more ruckus than was absolutely necessary! 🤷♀️

I like ruckus.

I want to go to Narna, too. All your flowers and plants and pots are gorgeous. Happy Weekend to you, too.

I would be right outside with you, Gracie. The deck is gorgeous!

You would love it. The hummers come for the canna lilies and the geraniums. They look like tasty morsels.

Gracie, you are a scamp. But it is a very beautiful deck so I don’t blame you. It was very funny how you yodeled though! Wish it were caught on video. What an adventure!! Must keep the peep on her toes.

I can yodel with the best and yes, it’s a real yodel. For my 7 lbs. I can wake the dead!

Hee,hee. I bet you can!!!

Can’t blame you for taking a bit of an exploratory peek in the great outdoors. That’s a nice deck and outside smells are always interesting. Still INSIDE is cooler, more comfy, and that’s where the food is!
Hugs, Teddy

Aww Teddy, you get to go out often. We can’t do that here. The peep’s old cat Jake was indoor/outdoor and he would make her crazy. She always threatened to install a GPS tracker on him. Now I think they have them for cats. Back then they were too clunky especially for a cat that wasn’t used to a collar.

Well I only get to go outside with Mom or Dad or both of them. Never on my own……but I don’t want to wander – I stick close to them and they stick close to me! 🙂

That looks like it’s still part of the house! It’s only technically outside….

I would love to enclose it either with screening or glass but our HOA frowns on that. As it is, I don’t trust the cats out there.

I understand that from the human need to keep them safe. From the cat’s point of view, though. I’ll bet it feels like the refreshing, good-smelling annex!

I bet it does.

That sounds like a fun adventure, Gracie. I am sure that your Peep (and your neighbours) greatly admired your yodelling!

Yes they do. Very melodious! Brings them running. They think someone is killing me.

Gracie, I”ll bet the Peep lost a year off her life when she realized you were outside. Hope CPS doesn’t haul her away for leaving that sliding door open allowing you to slip out.

All of us cats here remember when we were outside all the time with no steady food source and no scritches. We don’t want to go back to that but smelling the hummingbirds was fun.

No worries you’ll ever go back to that life again – none of you will. Hummingbirds are sweet – better enjoy them now, they’ll be gone soon.

That was kind of you to let the Peep know where you were. 🙂

Gracie, that’s a beautiful deck. I can see why you were tempted to go through the open door. Hope you and the peeps have a good weekend.

I would definitely go out on that lovely deck too. Catnip or no catnip, it looks like the perfect place for an afternoon snooze.

There was too much going on, birds flying and squirrels running, I couldn’t nap.

Who could resist checking out that beautiful patio! Sorry there was no catnip. I bet your peep almost had a heart attack. You still have a great view and memories of smells, Gracie. It is best you and the others stay inside. Outside can be a dangerous place.

I’m happy inside so all is good but it was a fun excursion.

I guess it was a deck, not a patio. Yes, safe excursions are good.

Gus walked out there last summer. He turned around and walked back in. I’m fortunate that none of them want to explore the outdoors.

Gracie, I would NEVER leave that gorgeous deck and view! But listen to your peep. Better than going to the casino any old day!!!

I was nice out there. The sun was shining and there was a gentle breeze full of smells. Glorious! We cats miss the screened porch. The chipmunks used to run around the outside to make us crazy. I think the peep paid them to give us exercise.
