It’s the peep today. Sasha’s at the spa getting a mani-pedi with a whisker curl.
Last week I took her to the vet for excessive vomiting. Since she almost only does it at breakfast time, my thought is that she eats too fast. The vet was thinking more along the line of food allergies. A food mat didn’t work for her. We are going to start her on a limited ingredient diet but it hasn’t come yet so in the meantime I’ve been feeding her smaller portions at breakfast. That worked and we went a whole week with a barf…until today.
To complicate matters she has an irritated ear. It’s not infected but irritated and it bothers her. She was hanging her head in that way that cats do when they have ear issues. She has ear drops now (her favorite! Not!) and her personality has turned around. I was hoping that the ear was contributing to the barfing. The vet didn’t think so but she was clearly uncomfortable.
I will not be taking a victory lap. I’m still not convinced it’s a food issue but I’ll start her on new food anyway to see if that helps. In the meantime she had a second breakfast, which she kept down. She’s been busy looking for her boa for Halloween! She is Sasha the Magnificent after all! A bellyache will not stop her from celebrating!

I’m glad the ear meds have helped. She’s gotta feel better. We have a cat that throws up several times a week. It just is, so we don’t worry about it anymore. She’s healthy otherwise, good weight, good appetite. Some cats are just like that, especially ones who groom a lot and swallow lots of fur like ours does.

That may be where we end up. Just would not prefer that my day start with a barf cleanup!

Poor Sasha…we’re hoping the change of food makes a positive difference…and not just in your wallet.

So Sasha is an enigma huh? (is that the right word??) Mysteries are sometimes tough to solve as our cats don’t talk (thank heavens). They do give us signs, signals, “looks”, and if they talked heaven knows they’d be driving us crazier than we are already but sometimes we are just not sure what’s up! Hope you and Sasha’s vet can figure it out.
Hugs, Pam (and Teddy)

We’ll keep trying things. She didn’t do this when she was younger.
