Sasha the magnificent here. The male peep went down this week. Sick as a dog. (I don’t know what that means but peeps say it.) Lady peep is not good at caretaking. She’s making chicken soup today. That’s her specialty. She’s not so good at the body fluids stuff. She’s hoping whatever it is, isn’t contagious or we are all doomed.

She was able to take two shots of me doing what I do best — napping.

Yes, this is comfortable and I didn’t slip down once!

A basket in the sun? Yes please!

Have a great weekend. They are predicting a nor’easter coming up our coast this weekend so it will be rainy and dreary even if we don’t get the full effect. Find yourself a good spot and nap.

  5. You’re cute as a button Sasha – you make me sleepy seeing you languishing away! I hope you and Gus were on your best behavior since the male peep was sick. Chicken soup hopefully cured him of those ills and aches and pains. Sounds like a stay-at-home weekend with that nor’easter coming your way. We have a nice weekend after last weekend when it poured for two straight days.

      • Yes, a rainy day gives you a great reason to sleep in. In the Summer, when I still had my garden and took the bus to work in Downtown Detroit, a rainy day was a blessing – I could sleep in as I always hand watered before work, although I always hoped it stopped raining before I had to stand and wait for the bus at the end of my street. Snow was and still is different … I always got out/get out to shovel it before too much more accumulates.

              • Oh that’s good news – I saw some videos yesterday that looked pretty bad from the nor’easter. We were just considered “moderately dry” this year, unlike last year, because we’ve had quite a few rainfalls, some torrential, all last weekend we had all-day rains. I almost put the hose away today as it was clear and dry. It’s a big deal as my hose reel on wheels broke, so once I take it off the hanger and put it into two plastic tubs in the garage, it’s staying there. Who knows if we get an extended hot spell or not? I worry about the ornamental tree in the front garden. If it dies, it’s the centerpiece of the garden and since everything was planted in 1985, it would be difficult to get something else that wouldn’t be overwhelmed by the rest of the garden.

                  • Yes, that’s true – I may still put it away tomorrow – one more nice day until the rain arrives. I have a small garage and have to reconfigure some things to get it in there. For years, when I had my hose reel which I had for 30 years til one day it collapsed barely missing my foot, it overwintered in my neighbor Marge’s garage. She had a one and one-half car garage, so it was great. I could leave it out until we’d have the first frost. I still have my original Swan brand hose I bought in 1985!

  12. Hi Sash,

    Sorry Mr. Peep is under the weather, no pun intended. We’ll all have to stay home if it rains as hard as they say. But you know, they do this. They like scaring the pants off of us. Yeah I know, you don’t wear pants, but you get what I mean. Just now I went to the market to a get some essentials and all the shelves were empty. Not one Oreo, and I went to two places. There was one dented box of Lorna Doones I grabbed, but well, it just won’t be the same.

    Chicken soup sounds wonderful. Best medicine. They don’t call it Jewish Penicillin for nothing. See ya Sash. Hug Gus for me. :)

  14. Sasha, sending get well pronto thoughts to your Dad! Hate to hear he is feeling crummy. I bet the Lady Peep’s chickhen soup will help. I hope the Lady Peep does not get the icks. Sasha, you in the basket with your neck all cricked looks like a wake up to headache thing to me. Maybe the sun worked some magic.

  17. Your photos and advice are FAB Sasha…..nobody makes napping look more fun than you do. Sorry your male peep is out of commission but humans are so delicate. We have to understand that since we’re living with them!
