Sasha the magnificent here. What a week! We have contractors IN THE HOUSE! I barely get my breakfast down then I must find a hidey spot.
The big excitement this week was that Gus got out. OUT OF THE HOUSE! We cats know we have a good gig, so we don’t try to get out but the peep went out and left the sliding screen door open. It was open for a long time. (She says a half hour but in cat time that’s days especially when it comes to treats!) She came up on the deck and found him sunning himself and generally enjoying the great outdoors. He was only missing a margarita and some music. She totally flipped out. He saw the crazy eyes and decided to go back into the house. He got hugs and smoochies for being a good boy. (Hey, I’m the one that didn’t go out at all. What about me?)
We both got a treat. She knows better than to give just one of us something. We would go on strike with picket cards. Or maybe call Cat Protective Services. We have rights.

That caper was exhausting. We needed a nap. The mean peep woke us up for a picture because she was so freaked out she didn’t get one of Gus on the deck!
All is good now. Her blood pressure is back down but Gus looks longingly at the deck remembering his brief sunning experience. We miss our old, screened porch where you could smell the chipmunk poop and tease the squirrels.
Life moves on but have a great weekend!
Editor’s Note: Our dog friend Phenny from Easy Blog had surgery yesterday. He’s not a young’un so surgery is risky, but he is recovering. Our hearts go out to the house. It brings back memories of when Gus had major surgery that took weeks to mend. It’s not easy to watch your bestie suffer. Hugs.

Gus knows a good thing when he’s got it! He knew the advantages of a deck, Sasha. Gus, don’t scare the Lady Peep like that! You two look so sleepy. A nice photo of you having/trying to have a little nap. I read in comments that Gus comes when called… he is such a good boy. Our Z Cat came when called. Probably thinking treats or being scooped up in my arms being smothered with kisses… she loved that.

What’s life without a cat spiking your heart rate at least once a week?! (It’s calm. Peaceful.)

He was relaxing and taking a bath in the sun oblivious to everything.

Me too but Gus comes when called. He’s more dog-like.

Oh dear…Gus…you added years on your poor mum. Glad all is back to normal now…but no more outdoor capers, dude. Ok? We’re keeping our fur-iend, Phenny in our thoughts and prayers. Have a great weekend.

I would have had a heart attack! They do miss that screened in porch, but so glad all is well. I’m sorry I won’t get to come by this weekend and give them a chin scratch….not that Sasha would appear anyway.

Gus is not a runner (fortunately). He is an adventurer and has walked into the garage when that door was open (but not the door to outside) but he’s not a fan of the garage. Sasha is sorry she will miss hiding from you! We all miss the screened porch. A deck is not the same. I open the upstairs window for them and they DO NOT lie there. Morgan was the fan of that.

They’re just on strike missing their screened in porch. An open window just doesn’t cut it!
