Sasha here. We are late today because the peep had an early morning doc appointment (that’s like a vet but she doesn’t need to fit in the portal to hell). It’s been a quiet week. I’ve been practicing my kneading skills. I found out that if you land on a peep’s belly and start kneading something she calls a bladder, things happen. It’s one way to keep her hopping.
There is a new stray in the ‘hood. It’s a lovely ginger and frequents the next-door neighbor because she feeds two outdoor kitties. Our neighbor’s address is listed everywhere strays congregate! The peep is encouraging her to add him to her group. Her outdoor cats have a good gig. Two meals a day and a heated hut to sleep in. Personally I like my indoor gig better, but I can’t chase squirrels and stuff.
We are still sad. The peep received Morgan’s paw prints this week and that ended up in a massive flood. Gus and I were looking for higher ground or Noah’s Ark.
Our peep says she’s going to paint some walls this weekend. Gus and I are thinking of helping. She bought a box of Churus which need eating. When we help, she calls us “indaway.” Not sure what that means but bring on the Churus!
Have a great (but paintless) weekend.

Are you considering adding a handsome new ginger to your menagerie? Or keeping it at the lovebirds for the moment? I’m so glad you and Sasha and Gus have each other for comfort!

Keeping it at two. If we have to downsize to a different kind of living, you can take two cats. It gets iffier if you have more.

Ah they look so cute in front of the fireplace. I’m sure they are missing Morgan. I had to look up what churus are…

I do too. It’s very cold here right now. At my last house I saw a stray that appeared at my pond from time to time eating the sunflower shells under the birdfeeder. Broke my heart. I put out real cat food. He ate 2 cans and 1/2 cup of kibble. He was starving. Before I moved I trapped him and had a rescue take him. Within a month he was in a warm home with a friendly cat with 2 good meals a day. He was a friendly cat and likely dumped. I hate people who do that.

Oh gosh, talk about heartbreaking! Bless you for rescuing him. I’m right there with you on people who do that. There’s isn’t enough bad that can happen to them in my mind.

That is a handsome ginger! Does the neighbor trap and neuter?

She has. The ones she feeds, she had TNR. She thinks he’s either an indoor-outdoor cat or been dumped as he is friendly.

That is a handsome ginger but I may be a little bit biased….! Love the canoodling photo…..in front of the fire…….SWEET. I’m glad Teddy isn’t fond of hopping up onto my tummy – my bladder would scream quite loudly I think (so would I!).
Big Hugs, Pam

Sasha seems to know where all the organs are moving from my bladder to my spleen to my pancreas. I think she was a doctor in a former life.

HAHA! Or maybe a surgeon.

Yes, you should help her out. She might still be sad. Very sweet of you.

That’s a nice photo of Gus and Sasha in front of the fireplace … what better place to cuddle up than there? With all the cold and wintry weather, it’s good to be productive. I wish I could get a kick in the pants and be more productive too.

I am definitely winding down. I wanted to finish this and maybe update our powder room. Everything else is staying as it is.

You have a lot of energy to take on new projects like this. I do have a painting project in the house in the hall, but I keep putting it off. When I painted the laundry room floor where the plumber tore apart the floor and had to remove the tiles that were in place for decades, I had to paint it over multiple times as I thought I had matched the paint to the tiles perfectly in this space in front of the laundry tub (about 4′ by 4′) but I was wrong each time. The paint store was not much help matching it or the wall, where I had to paint over where they splattered black gunk behind the laundry tub that could not be removed.

Those aren’t the projects I like to do. I like when it’s pretty at the end. Instant gratification!

I hope the peep’s appointment went well. That new kitty is adorable. I hope someone will adopt him.

Appointment was routine so ok. That kitty has been around (so my neighbor says) for a while. I saw him for the first time last week. He eats her outdoor cats food. I think she should add another plate and another heated hut. She is a very kind person but she has 2 indoor cats that won’t accept another cat.

Painting… the Lady Peep is so brave! The ginger… the workings of the cat distribution sysytem? The sad will be there… does it ever leave us? So many sads from kitties that left us too soon. OhMyGosh, have not seen nor heard “indaway” which I find a very good word. Sasha, you and Gus make sure you look for opportunites to help… er, be indaway when the Lady Peep starts her painting project. Have an indaway weekend Sassy Cats!

Not only don’t you have to be stuffed into a pet carrier, you actually drive yourself to the doctor’s. On purpose.
January is my birth month too and I’ve been “gifted” with a plethora of medical appointments. Fun times!
Happy belated birthday!

Not really. Not in the mood this year but I’m having lunch with a friend next week. Looking forward to that. We went out for dinner last night and it didn’t work. The food was overcooked (I really should have sent it back) and I asked for a booth so they put us in the back next to the waiter station although there were booths up front. I know. I should have complained. Sometimes you just want things to be right without fighting. The place dropped to the bottom of my list.

Sorry it wasn’t more of an UP in the middle of a bunch of DOWNERS. Hope lunch next week is a winner.
And I agree. At times, I don’t want to argue, fuss, or fight to make it right.

Next week will be more about the friendship and that helps a lot. Also, it’s lunch so less likely to disappoint.

Lovely pic of Sasha and Gus in front of the fire. Will Morgan’s pawprints go up? We have pictures put on canvas of Barney, Kizzy and Maggie.

No, I have a box of mementoes (mostly paw prints) from other pets. Right now it’s too painful. She’s in my heart. Odd story — when Gracie died, Chewy sent me a small portrait of Morgan on canvas. Since they were both gray, they had the wrong one done. It’s beautiful and I have that in my office.

Routine dry eye treatment today. The ginger is nice. He’s friendly-ish so my neighbor thinks he was or is a pet. Her 2 outdoor cats get along with him. They normally chase other cats away.
