Sassy cats — Mine, mine, mine

Gracie: This is my cool new bed!

Gracie here. It was an awesome week here in paradise. It was Chewy week. We are never sure what will come. This shipment had both catnip and a new bed! Bazinga!

The peep says we don’t need a new bed. We have 87 beds all over the house. In every room. Multiple beds in every room. Yet…she bought another one.

She’s been fascinated with those round floofy ones. She had a weak moment. Something about too many contractors and she needed retail therapy. (Can’t wait until the bath renovation starts! Lots of new stuff!)

Gus: Peep! Where is my new bed?

It’s the coolest thing. She says she bought it for Gus who sleeps on the floor next to her desk. I sleep on the cabinets at the window (to better track the neighbor’s cats). Gus’ bed was thin and flimsy and mine was thick and comfy.

Poor Gus. He can’t get near it. It’s mine! I love it. Chin rest around the edge. Sink in softness. I didn’t even let her take the tags off. Gus has to sleep on one of the beds at the window. Too bad. I have seniority.

Oh yeah, the catnip is awesome too. We’ve been out of it for a while. I did the macarena after a roll in it. The peep loves when I dance.

Until next time, have a great weekend! Snuggle in your beds and dance, dance, dance!

Gus (looking resigned) in the window bed area.

  1. I’m amazed you managed to entice a cat into the bed! It would’ve been more their style to ignore it, only to sleep in it after you advertise it on eBay as “never been used”.

    • 🙂 My cats like new things for a nanosecond. Gracie is now going back and forth between the window bed and the new one that is on the floor without a view. We’ll see. I bought one a year ago that looked so wonderful (to me) and I get almost zero takers. Occasionally Sasha will take a nap in it but that’s it. Just enough use so that I can’t say “never used.”

  2. Maybe after the “new” aura of the bed wears off it might be available for Gus or anyone else – it’s one of those power struggles that might be interesting to watch…….as for Teddy – no struggling required – whatever comes into the house is HIS period. LOL

  3. Those cuddle beds are truly wonderful. Elsa has tried a few times to bogart the one I got for Wilson but whenever I try to document it photographically, she retreats to the big bed that looks like a sofa. With 10 beds, we’d have to ‘retire’ one to get her one of her own and even then, Mom’s not sure her tiny house can do yet another bed if it it was replaced. Time will tell. Here’s to great snoozes in the new bed. And loads of rolls in the nip.

    • Or no one will touch it in a week. It could go either way. It’s not really in a good spot for cats. No view of anything but Gus kept sleeping next to me on the floor so I thought that would be more comfy. Poor guy hasn’t had a chance to try it.

  5. That looks like a very nice bed! We won’t need anymore here either, but oddly, new ones do show up from time to time. Mostly for the foster kittens. What’s with that???

  6. Gus can have the bed when Gracie gets tired of it. I think Zoe would have loved her’s longer if she had Charlie to fight over it with.

    Happy weekend!
