It’s the peep this week. Gracie took the day off. She’s stalking rotisserie chickens which she thinks grow on trees.
The week was uneventful until the peep found a lump on Sasha’s neck. It’s small and Dr. Google thinks it’s most likely a lipoma but a vet trip is on the schedule. More troublesome is that Sasha stopped eating wet cat food which up until a week or two ago, was her favorite. Did you notice that this came to a head just before the weekend? I was fortunate to get a vet appointment today.
Gus develops yeast infections easily so each week, I put him on a towel and clean his ears. He yowls. Loudly. The beloved husband has to hold him because he’s a strong cat and does not like his ears touched. I’m sure he is saying bad words. He can swear like a sailor. Some weeks the cleaning goes well and some weeks…well…he’s a cat. I also wash his chin as he’s susceptible to chin acne. (Yes he eats on flat ceramic plates – no plastic.) He can be a real drama queen. (But he’s our drama queen!)
Gracie barfed on her zoomgroom thingie. It’s drying but she doesn’t quite understand why she’s not getting brushed this morning.
This is one of those weeks when I wonder why I have so dang many cats!

You are a busy cat mom for sure! I love the idea of Gus swearing away while you clean his ears, but I’m sure you don’t enjoy hearing the yelling 🙂

Despite everything, Gus swearing like a sailor has me going. Of course, maybe it was your beloved, but I love the idea of it being Gus. It’s the romantic in me who loves a man in uniform. Hope Sasha is okay.

Sasha is ok. Nothing wrong except for a neurotic owner.

Well, I sure hope Sasha is okay. I also hope Gracie doesn’t stuff herself too much with chicken. That is an adorable picture of Gus. Just adorable.

Sasha is ok. Gracie says there is no such thing as too much rotis chicken and Gus was not happy with me!

I hope Sasha had a good vet report today and she is being a finicky cat with her food. The picture of Gus is sweet. We usually see him stretched out next to Sasha. At least this didn’t happen before the holiday weekend!

Sasha is good. No issues and she ate this morning. Gus was annoyed with me. He hates getting his ears cleaned. It’s eerily close to the holidays!

That’s good news about Sasha’s lump and eating issues. Well Gus looked cute, despite having a catitude. Yes, cross your fingers (and paws) the portal to h*ll doesn’t need to come for Thanksgiving!

I hope Sasha is OK. I have to clean Brody’s ears often so I take him in the bathroom so he can’t escape me. 🙂

Our bathroom vanity is lower than I’d like for working on him but that’s a good idea. My husband had to hold him and he hollers the whole time.

Yes never a dull moment, but what would we do without them:) Hope Sasha is ok.

Sasha is fine. Still not eating wet food but whatev. The lump is just a watch and see thing.

Why? Because they each need you. And you wouldn’t want it any other way. Wishing each cat, and their peeps, good health.

Thanks! We need it!

Hope everything is OK with Sasha and the others. Is Morgan OK? No mention today.
Maya presents herself for her face to be washed every morning so I clean her ears and ‘bits’ at the same time. She’s not happy, but tolerates it. Thinking of you all.

Sasha is ok. Just got home from vet. We are to watch the lump. If it gets bigger, she will remove but she doesn’t want to put Sasha under just for that. As for not eating, she’s a cat. Fussy, picky and demanding. If she loses weight (which would be a blessing) we’ll reassess.

Glad all went well. Lumps and bumps are curious things but we worry when we find them where they shouldn’t be ❤

Yes, all rescues with back stories. Sasha is ok. Lump is nothing (at least at this point). As for not eating, she’s a cat. Fussy and picky until starving.

I have a rescue kitty as well. She’s all black and was being rejected for that reason alone. She is SO loveable… and she chose me!

Aww, poor kitties. It’s always something with our beloved fur-kids. Hopefully all goes well at the vet visit and you find out the growth is nothing but a lipoma. Do you mix the rotisserie chicken in with the wet? Maybe she’d eat it if it were mixed together? Just wondering but she’s likely too clever to be tricked like that.

Gracie is the rotisserie chicken cat and she’s eating ok. Sasha is just being a cat. Lump is not a problem, at least not now.

Whew…glad to hear the lump isn’t going to be problematic. It’s always so scary when you find one.

Hope all goes well with Sasha’s appointment.
Gracie’s barfing is befuddling to say the least.
Fingers crossed for a peaceful weekend at the Sassy Cat’s for peeps and cats!

OMG! On the TOP of her lungs. When we walked in the vet, she was so loud, everyone stopped what they were doing to see what was wrong. Even the resident cat came over to visit.

Hope “everything” turns out alright……not eating is a toughie. They go in and out of being persnickety about what they like and don’t like. Hope the lump is nothing to worry about and the not eating resolves when you find something “acceptable” for the non-eater. I’ve gone in and out of that with Ted over the years – he just gets bored with one thing and wants to move on to another (but finding the new “thing” is a challenge!).
Hugs, Pam

She’s never been a fussy eater. In fact, it’s the opposite with her. She will steal the cat’s food so it’s a bit worrisome but she is a cat. She is a chonker so I’m not worried about her fading away anytime soon.

Good grief, yours are almost as troublesome as mine! (ALMOST.)

Yes, I usually have one that is good without issues but there is always something to worry about.

Not eating? Sasha is not eating? That is indeed worrying. People always say that two pets are easier than one because they play together. But they’re conveniently forgetting double the amount of trouble and vet trips and worry (and $$$)!

In recent years, both cat food and vet bills have gone up considerably. I stopped doing annual check-ups and just go to the vet for vaccines or when something is wrong (or maybe a senior panel when appropriate). My vet wanted a twice a year check-up for cats over 6. That gets to be overwhelming all the way around.

Twice a year?! No way. Taking cats the vet is so stressful!

We had a cat who had to eat on a flat plate because of chin acne. Also this meant she dramatically swatted dry kibble all over the kitchen floor when she wanted something canned.

When I was a child our family cat thought kibble was to play with and wet food was to eat!

I hope nothing serious is wrong. Seems like one or more of your furry four-legged friends are always keeping you busy with health issues. Hey, it gives you something to keep busy with, right?

I could do with less cat health issues! For the lump I’m not too concerned although it’s best to have it checked. The not eating is more of a problem.

They do keep you busy and wondering. I hope the lump on Sasha isn’t anything worrisome. Will keep fingers, toes, and paws crossed.

It doesn’t seem to bother her but better to get checked. More worried about the not eating wet part.
