Today we are introducing a new grand pup. This is Tula, a Plott hound 10-week-old puppy. They lost both their dogs last year because of unexpected devastating illnesses. Welcome Tula, you won the lottery!
Just so you don’t forget the cats, here is a picture of Shasha and Morgan shortly after I got home with some fresh cat grass.Ā Old pot of grass is sitting on side. From all the critters, have a glorious weekend!
Adorable dog!

Tula and Rowan are both so beautiful! And how lucky they are to have each other! After losing dogs to illness, how devastating, a happy turn of events. Do share more from time to time! Such fun!

Currently we have 3 grandpups. Finn, Nora and now Tula. Finn is a ginormous Cathoula mix that could knock anyone over. He has mellowed with age but he was a rambunctious youngster. Nora is just a sweetie. There are many cats. Love my step-kids. They have my animal gene! Unfortunately the pets, along with my granddaughters are all in Denver.

Oh, dear! Denver is a long way from home, isn’t it!! I have never heard of a Cathoula! Such an interesting breed. I would bet that your grandkids are thrilled you have such an interest in their animals. They’re great for multigenerational bonding! š

Absolutely. When they visit, they spend more time with the cats than with the grandparents! š

OMG – so much cuteness in one post! Tula is adorable, as is grandchild holding her. And of course your cats are so beautiful! My boys love their cat grass too š

Looks like Sasha and Morgan also hit the lottery judging from them enjoying the cat grass! What a cute little puppy and a sweet name.

I can tell Kate. You know where pets rule in a house and you are like my friend Carol. Cats could not find a happier home. Even the feral cats are loved.

I tried commenting on your bug post but was unable to. It also showed that I wasn’t following so I reclicked. Either something changed overnight or WP is wonky again.

That is strange Kate. I had some trouble with that post last night. Do you follow Laurie (Mediations in Motion)? She did a post recently on how she rescues spiders and centipedes and carries them outside, or doesn’t let them get wet if she finds one in the shower. I tried embedding the post like I usually do, and it said the link was broken. Laurie got a pingback, but I had to remove the link, tried twice, and each time it didn’t work properly. WP is wonky and I noticed when I went into the Comments section to deal with spam that it looked different, went in a little while later and it was normal again. Bet they are getting ready to roll out this version 5.2 I’ve been hearing about. I hope Anne Mehrling sees this post because I e-mailed her the centipede pics last year as she hates bugs like I do. She said “use it in a post” and at the time I couldn’t bring myself to do it – no shame doing it yesterday though. It worked for this post. š

I don’t know Mediations in Motion. I’ve also noticed that the Reader doesn’t show all the posts of the bloggers I follow. I’ve put a note in tomorrow’s post. I’m tracking my email notices but I’m sure I’ve missed posts. WP does get wonky.

That is a very cute puppy! Reminds me that having allergies is a bummer.

I’m lucky I’m not allergic to animals although I think I am allergic to New Jersey.

While Tula may have won the Lottery, I don’t think the kitties did so badly either. Happy weekend.

All the animals in our family have won the lottery. Both my husband’s side and mine have multiples and all are well loved and taken care of. We have that mystery gene that requires us to have pets.

Nothing mysterious about. You guys live āanipals.ā A good family gene. š

Tula is too sweet and I love the name! And yes, I am sure your cats didn’t want Tula to have all the attention! They look as cute as ever dining on grass. š

Yes, on the counter. They couldn’t wait until I put it where it belonged!

I don’t think she will get that big but she does look like a Great Dane puppy.

She’s beautiful Kate. And the cats are their usual charming selves of course. Never heard of cat grass.

Cat grass is just plain grass without any chemicals. It comes in pots here and as you can see, my cats love it. All except Gracie who thinks it’s stupid.

Interesting. Maggie eats grass when she’s not feeling well.

Hi Di. Ray does the same. I understand that it resolves an upset stomach.

I believe so too. We just have to be careful in case the council have been spraying locally in which case we keep her away

Yup …. same here. Got to be so careful with fertilizers and weedkillers!

That’s what we always thought to, but when our dogs eat grass it promptly comes back up not much later! We don’t ever put fertilizers or weedkillers on our grass, so why they get sick on it, I have no clue!
LikeLiked by 1 person
Perhaps that is exactly why they eat it? Sticking a paw down their throat is probably not too practical. š

Well I guess you do have a point there! LOL! Hadn’t thought of it in quite that way before. š

Grass eating is often followed by a hairball but they like to eat it without a bellyache too.

Seeing that puppy pic … the one and only regret I have with Ray, is that we can only imagine what a cute puppy he must have been. š

Ray must have been a gorgeous puppy. Makes it hard to understand why anyone would discard him.

Given that his DNA was very “clean” (only GSD and Rottweiler), we suspect that he was purposely bred … possibly to guard a farm? His personality, as we have seen it, probably didn’t create a good impression due to his pre-occupation with checking out everywhere for food, and sleeping, and (when we first got him) his threatening behavior if not approached carefully!
LikeLiked by 1 person
Do you think those behaviors happened because of the way he was treated as a pup. Not enough food? Getting hit around?

He probably picked up his scavenging habits as a survival skill when a stray. He initially had a very strong aversion to being touched, and went “ballistic” on me once when I was sweeping our pathway and the broom went close to him. That was repeated a short time later when I was digging close to him. We are pretty certain that he was abused in order to produce those kinds of reactions. i can well imagine him being hit with something to get him up on four legs to do his job! His laid back attitude, and stubborn streak (Rotti?), could have been the cause of the abuse. Of course, it can only be speculation on our part.
