A little bit of awe for the storm | For animal lovers

We are in the middle of a snowstorm….again. The cats are off to their own business with some sleeping through it and Morgan (the youngest kitty) chatting with the birds.

I forgot what it’s like to have a young pet for the holidays.

Our holiday cards have bite marks on them.

There are ornaments UNDER the tree.

The tree occasionally shakes as if there was something inside it….hmmmm….

Here are some pictures to enjoy and feel free to suggest other captions.

I'm still in training. Is this a place I can sit or maybe not. The human is making funny faces.

Morgan: I’m still in training. Is this a place I can sit or maybe not. The human is making funny faces.

Where'd it go? I just had that toy and it's lost!

It's me! Did you recognize my paws?

Morgan: It’s me! Did you recognize my paws?

Morgan: How did you find me? I'm the same color as the sink!

Mollie: Holy blizzard Batman! It's coming down!

Hazel: Can you recommend a book? Nothing scary. Maybe a nice holiday romance.

Jake: Listen Cupcake, wake me when it's over!

Morgan: It's exhausting being adorable!

  1. I love the photos, Kate! Your little band of cuties are certainly comfortable and at home! I love the photo with the nutcracker and the wistful gaze out the window. That’s a keeper! Obviously so are the kitties. 🙂

  2. I love that Morgan chats with the birds along with your captions. Makes me want to get another cat. I visit Rosie the florist kitty every morning, but it’s just not enough, and Carmela the basset hound hates the cold so she’s not out as often to play with. I love the shot of Morgan peeking from beneath the table. Thanks for sharing.

  3. I love the last one best – “it’s exhausting being adorable.” 🙂 LOL And your captions are all exceptionally perfect! What a fun post for a snowy day with the Christmas Kitties.

  4. I loved the photos and the captions! I am sure the snow looks beautiful but I think I will just stay here in So Cal and deal with the wind!

  5. Our ornaments are under our tree too!
Also, our tree is partially now bent at an abnormal angle from someone trying to climb in it.
    Cute pictures!

  6. Love the pictures. Seeing Morgan makes me want another kitten. Teddy is two now and settling down…sorta. I think if I do get another it should be another two year old or maybe older. What do you think?.

    • You can get any age you think Teddy could work with. A young cat would keep him engaged. Morgan is a year old and she has done wonders with my crew but she is very outgoing and not at all fearful (even when they give her head wamps). She was 6 to 9 months when I got her. You can also get a mellow older cat if you don’t want all the kittyhood stuff. It may take a little longer for them to be friends.

      • Teddy is very timid with everyone but me. Most people who come here have never seen him. A knock on the door sends him under the quilt on the bed. Do you think another is a good idea?

        • My Hazel is very timid and she does well with the cats. I think she prefers cats to people. Our doorbell sends all of our cats except Morgan under the bed. Get a non-aggressive cat and see how he does. The shelter folks should be able to help you match up. I would go for it.

    • Mollie is amazing. She was a stray but she is the only one who won’t go into the screened porch until spring. She likes it warm and toasty. Give her a window and she’s good!

  7. Lovely pics, Kate! I love your basket of books ~ much friendlier than having paperbacks lined up like soldiers on a bookcase.

    If I were there . . . I’d echo Jake’s sentiments. 😀

    • We keep an overflowing basket of books on the second floor landing. People come in to our house and go right up the stairs to see if there’s something there to read.

    • Ahh Valerie! I was thinking of you as you are enjoying spring. I am always grateful to see the pictures of the blooming flowers you post. Gives me hope that we will see it here again soon. Snow is beautiful but I tire of all the work fast.

  8. I like Morgan in the sink. Is he allowed in the sink? Do cats ever figure out where they are not allowed? Our cat died two years ago. I have not wanted to get another cat because I did not want to have to place an animal if it survived us. Ha. But now we have a mouse/rat. Maybe I could get an old cat from spca. But maybe it would be spoiled and just look at me when I say got get the mouse. Maybe it would hate my silly playful cocker spaniel dog. Maybe i should just kill the mouse/rat and get over it.
