Sasha the magnificent here. Calm week. Weather started out wonderful but it’s getting super warm again. That means the sliding door isn’t open and we can’t smell the bird poop. Boogers.
It was squirrelageddon here! This was the result of a HUGE squirrel fight between us and the squirrel. The squirrel is lucky he was on the other side of the window! The peep said we turned the computer on and pulled up Co-Pilot. She wanted to know if we ordered anything from Chewy. We’ll never tell!

That’s Gus upper left ginger with what maybe pistachio ice cream! Sasha first row middle with strawberry!
Gus has an admirer. He got a card from Susannah of The Thin Girl blog. He was swooning over it. That may be fine, but she lives two hours from us. My motto is “love the one you’re with!” (Ohhh I hear a tune in the background! Dit da dit dit da dit dit da dit da dit!)
The peep is worried because I’ve been barfing more frequently lately. She says I’m special and she doesn’t want anything to happen to me. (Of course I’m special! Duh!) The truth is that she doesn’t want to go through all the vet trips that result in big bills, no answers and a cranky cat. She’s keeping an eye on it. Gracie had barfing issues all her life and no blood test or x-ray gave any information. Vets talk about food allergies but that’s very hard to figure out because I don’t do it all the time or even every week.
Have a wonderful weekend full of squirrel skirmishes, admirers and good food that stays down.

I wouldn’t worry, I don’t think can live without you. You seem to be his one true love!

Sasha, that’s puzzling with what could be causing your tummy problems. Glad you had a calm week. Hope everyone has a good weekend and have fun watching the squirrel.

Sasha, how nice you and Gus have “Squirrel TV” to keep you entertained. Your squirrel is still vying to be an inside pet and have a cushion by the window and to be laughing at the “outside squirrels”. I know squirrels and their mindset and I am right! :) I wonder if you could have allergy tests done, like humans have, lots of needles on their back to test for food allergies or other allergies? Of course, it might mean shaving off more fur and your other fur has now grown back, so maybe not. I have allergies to ragweed, grass and mold and had shots from 1975 to 1995 and my allergist retired and said I could stop the shots … the allergies came back eight years later, so now I’m staying on them for good.

When Gracie had the same issues, the vet did not suggest testing. She felt it was a food allergy. She wanted Gracie off all but one protein and then see what worked. You can’t do that with Gracie. She would only eat chicken, preferably rotisserie. We’ll see what the vet says on the next visit. Sorry about your allergies. You need a nice cat like me!

Yes, as smart as you are Sasha, you can’t tell the vet what makes you feel nauseous. I forgot to mention I AM allergic to cats … how did I forget that? Well, I don’t have a cat, but took care of my neighbor’s cat many times when she was still traveling. Missy was a short-haired gray cat, so no problems. I went over nightly to feed and tend to her, played with her (she was mean and only liked Marge and scratched me). Friends of the family had a Persian cat and we took care of it at our house and it made me sneeze my head off – that was early in the allergy shot regimen. If that is my only medical problem at 70 years old, I feel very lucky!

Allergic to cats? Not allowed! That’s awful!

You must have sent the good weather down here. Last night was cool, this morning it was in the 60’s and it stayed in the low 80’s all day with rain blowing through a time or two.
Good song selection!

You must have sent the hot air up here. It was high 80s but extremely humid. We like CSN&Y!

Squirrels are such a nuisance. I will add you to my prayer list. Have you had your thyroid checked? My Penelope was barfing and her blood work showed hyperthyroid so now she is on meds. XO

It’s been about two years since the peep took me to see Dracula to suck my blood. Don’t remind her.

Sasha the Magnificent, no open sliding door, a squirrel fight between you and Gus, a Chewy order… so much going on! You are special, Sasha! Don’t want you to have barfing issues. Maybe it is too exciting there with squirrel vision!

Dear Sasha,
Has it ever occurred to you that Senor Squirrel just finds you irresistible? He can’t help himself. I knew a man like him. He looked a little different but he too was obsessed. And just between us, did you order something from Chewy’s? I won’t tell.

I am irresistible! Senor Squirrel is one of my biggest fans! Don’t tell Gus.

I remember something about putting an animals food dish up higher so that they don’t bend down to eat, being helpful in preventing barfing up food. I don’t remember if it was for cats or dogs (maybe both).

We’ve tried. We’ve also tried smaller amounts more frequently but that’s hard with another cat willing to clean up every morsel!

Never a dull moment there…….that’s good and bad right? Sorry about the barf stuff….I went through a spell when I was younger but since I’m now an oldie no barfing. Why? Who knows! I like the “squirrel observation post” – I do my observation when I’m on the front porch….mostly it’s the skinks that live under the sidewalk that fascinate me. Anyway, happy Friday from me and my Mom.
Hugs, Teddy

Skinks? Sounds like fun. Send some! :)

They are interesting little critters….and FAST. Some are bright blue striped with yellow and some are rust/brown. The biggest one (we call him Big Daddy) is about 6-7 inches long. They come out to lie on the sidewalk in the sun but live under the sidewalk. Wish I could send you some – the cats would love them…while I don’t know this for a fact, I suspect there are QUITE A FEW under the sidewalk!!!

Sounds like our chipmunks at the last house. Our pond had stonework and I swear they built condos in them.

Barfing is no fun…I mean, aside from the satisfaction of nailing multiple surfaces and riling up the humans. I hope you feel better soon and Gus knocks off all that flirting.

That long counter top is perfect for kitties. My crew would just swoon over it, not to mention my fosters. I don’t think I’ll show it to them, or they’ll all want to move to your place instead of here. Perfect squirrel watching counter.

I was telling my neighbor about your squirrel issues this week after he had his own bout of taunting. Squirrels are like “that guy” who will forever aggravate everyone in their path.
I LOVE that card and certainly hope you’re feeling better soon 🥰😽

Cat barf issues are tough to resolve. I’ve had a couple cats with it and they were never diagnosed with anything that could be fixed. Lots of rug cleaner and paper towels.
