June is a congested month. Lots of activities. More than I like but we are humping through.
Sweet cat Gus’s medications are finished and it appears to have done the job. Gracie hasn’t barfed in 24 hours. All good but I’m sure the Gracie drama isn’t over. The vet suggested a food (which she didn’t eat but the others love it). She’s not a very cooperative cat. There is no easy fix.
We got rain! After a dry May (and a lot of talk about a drought) it rained all day on Sunday and Wednesday. Looks like Friday too. Not complaining. Hand watering plants makes you appreciate the beauty of rain. Hopefully there will be some warmth and sunshine mixed in too.
The women in our clan are having lunch today. We used to meet up twice a year but the pandemic threw us off schedule. It’s a chance to catch up.
My stepdaughter is coming in for a few days. We’ll put her to work helping her dad on some projects. We may not get the outdoor painting done but there are other projects waiting. Anything accomplished helps. Onward and upward!

Let’s face it, things happen anytime the women of a family get together. Ideas are brought to life just by mentioning them in conversation. I love your tradition and hope it lasts for generations. Women are the backbone of the families.
Yea, to the rain!

Women are the ones who make family happen. Haven’t had a single guy in the family say “let’s let together and have a reunion!”

I like your tradition of the woman of the clan getting together on a regular basis. It’d be a good way to catch up without any distracting males. I hope it was fun.

It was fun and the food was good. Win-win.

Hi, Kate – What a wonderful tradition for the women of your clan to get together regularly. Without those traditions, it is easy to lose touch even with people whom we are close to.

We don’t see each other often. Most years only once at the reunion so it’s been nice to keep connected.

Hope the luncheon was lovely and fun! Good to hear Gus”s meds cleared up his eye and that Gracie has been barfless for now. We need rain! It keeps missing us!

True to form, Gracie barfed on my desk chair after I wrote positive things about her. Oh yeah, and I sat in it before I noticed it. Massive cleanup. Fortunately it was before my shower. Wishing you some rain. “They say” we will have more today.

I hope the girls had a grand time at lunch……AND glad the cats are doing better too. That’s always a big relief when all is well. I guess that reunion of yours will be here soon and sounds like everything will be ship shape for that. Rain? What’s that? We keep hearing we’re going to get some but it never arrives!
Hugs, Pam

I am so sorry about the rain. It’s been very welcome here. More scheduled for today although it’s warm and sunny out there now.

So nice to catch up! We have some visitors right now and even though hosting is exhausting, I love finding out what everyone is doing.

There is always some news and yesterday was no exception. On top of all that the place was nice (not too crowded or noisy) and the food was good!

Oh, that is nice. When the food is good, sometimes the noise level leads to shouting. Not at all restful!

After we picked the place my bro said he likes it but it’s very noisy. I was pleasantly surprised it wasn’t very crowded. We were there at noon and most people were eating inside (outside was an option).

Glad Gus’s meds are done. I hope you had a nice lunch with the ladies.

Gus is glad his meds are done although he should have his ears cleaned once a week going forward. Not happy about that but it was the eye ointment that he really didn’t like.

Hope you enjoyed your lunch and Gracie is on the mend and able to write her Friday post. We just had a gulley-washer here with hail, high winds and a suspected weak tornado (30 miles from me). There is no water in the Heavens, believe me … it was a torrential downpour for an hour.

We had a lot of rain but nothing like that!

Two storms in one night – a few gray hairs and a little more shaved off my life for bad nerves. The tornado 30 miles from me was confirmed this morning … too close for comfort!

Hope you had a good time. I’m happy to see rain here too. Glad Gracie and Gus are doing better.

We had a great time. Food was good too. Gus’s issue is resolved at least for now. Gracie’s is recurring so she’s stable now but it will flare again. Next steps are to put her on a special diet. I don’t know how that would work. She’s too picky an eater and she grazes. I’d have to keep all the food for all the cats in the cabinet except for specific eating times. I’m trying a kibble for hairballs to see if that helps. At least the other cats can eat that. Also, no one ate the $4.50 prescription cat food can that the vet wanted me to try. I knew that would happen.

I’ve never had a cat picky with food, until I got Scout. She’s a grazer too. One moment she loves a flavour and the next she looks at it like it’s garbage. I’m hoping she never needs prescription food, because I know I’d have the same problem as you’re having.

Gracie will eat almost any kibble but when it comes to wet food, yikes! She hasn’t eaten wet food for 2 days now. Tomorrow I’ll give her the stimulant.

I’m like you, too much activity isn’t for me, but it happens, and we get through. Seems like a lot of places have been dry. We finally got rain on Tuesday. The dog and I got caught in a downpour on our walk. But that was the only day. Hasn’t rained since and there is none in the forecast. We sure could use more.
Glad to hear the kitties are doing better. I take the reunion is still coming up?

Yes, reunion in two weeks!

Good to hear all is well with your felines. I have been watching Jack closely for the last week or so. He is a very laid-back ten-year-old cat but he seems to be aging faster than Teddy who is twelve. There may be a vet trip coming up.😾

I know the anxiety that goes with these trips. Fingers crossed for Jack! Vet wanted Gracie off the appetite stimulant so now she is not eating much. Sigh!

When it rains, I always comment, “Well, at least we don’t have to shovel rain!”. And to be honest, after orange alert days and red alert days due to air quality, the rain not only helps with the dryness of the area, but also washes away all of those particles of ash in the air and on the ground! Besides, rainy days are excuses to curl up with a book (not that I need an excuse!). Sounds like Gracie is very finicky. I’m that way myself, but if I’m hungry enough and there’s only one food being offered, I’m eventually going to eat it!

I’m about to scrap her breakfast into the trash. She is a stubborn cat! Yes, love not shoveling rain!

Yay for Gus! Not having to chase him down to put drops in his eye has got to help. I wish Gracie and Zoe could find a food. Zoe currently has one flavor, out of the 10 or so we have, that she will eat. You know she’s not going to be willing to eat it for every meal. Cats are challenging.

Gracie is very challenging. I cleaned her ears this morning. She is also subject to ear yeast infections. Gus was a trooper but she was a wiggle worm and I barely got it done. Vet also wants me to give her fish oil supplements. Not sure how. She doesn’t like fishy stuff to start. She also doesn’t like anything that is good for her.
