Morgan here! It’s been an exhausting week. The peep was sick for a couple days and we all played Florence Nightingale. We are such natural caretakers! She slept one day so we were all required to hop into her bed and sleep with her. Very tiring for us, all that sleeping. She forgot to give us treats that day but we forgave her. Sort of. She’s all better now.
Sasha took advantage and read the newspapers ON THE FORBIDDEN TABLE! Crazy peep had to wash it before the humans could eat. Something about fur. Sasha likes to keep up with the sports teams!
There is a new quilt on the peep’s bed. It’s a lighter color than the old blue one and it’s very soft and fluffy. We’ve all taken a hop on but Sasha and I like it best.
The peep said I had to include a shot of the canoodlers! Sharing is caring! All else is good here except the peep’s struggle with a mischievous squirrel but that’s a post for another day.
We wish you all a great weekend!
Morgan – By now I’m sure your peep is better … you must be a stellar nurse. You’re right – Sasha looks like she’s put on a few pounds with all that fur – whew, all that fur would make me very warm.

The fur also insulates against the heat!

Morgan Nightingale thanks for my morning smile! Glad to hear the peep is better. I hope your brought her tea and toast in bed and didn’t steal any of her food.

No, she eats people food. Yuk!

Sorry you were under the weather, Kate but glad the nursing staff took good care of you. They make the best caretakers. Good luck dealing with the rogue squirrel.

Doggone squirrel. I like them usually but not when they are eating the only flowers I have here. Last owners were not gardeners. So far I’ve had a dogwood and a peony bloom and not much else.

Sometimes you have to declare war on those destructive buggers. Good luck.

I know but I’m not sure what to do. I’d hate to net the boxes!

Have you tried Tabasco?
LikeLiked by 1 person
No, I haven’t tried anything yet. I’m assuming it’s squirrels because I only see squirrels and birds on my deck rail. I’m still in shock as I didn’t expect anything to bother a deck planter that high off the ground.

You might want to spray your planters with chili sauce or Tabasco. You’ll need to reapply but it might discourage any hoodlums munching on your plants. 🤞🏻

I’ll look for that. It’s only 3 planters so it wouldn’t be a lot of work. I just can’t believe it. I’m going to removed the sweet potato vines which seem to be attracting them and replace those with a weird smelling flower like lantana. It’s a very hot sunny spot so that may help too. Maybe I’ll give up on the morning glories.

I have deer spray that smells like mint. I may try that first so I don’t have to buy anything but still pulling out that sweet potato vine.

Glad your human is better! You did a good job taking care of her. Geez, what would they do without us, right? I think you look good in the pic, but your boyfriend’s butt looks a tad large in the next one!!!

It’s the angle. It’s a nice, good smelling butt. Mostly.

Did I ever tell you my trick for forbidden surfaces? Put kitty there to give them their meds. I can guarantee that they will steer clear forever more, even if you just do it once.

🙂 Wonderful idea! Last night Gus was on the forbidden table. He was all stretched out peacefully sleeping and took up the entire table.

I don’t understand what’s so bad about fur on the table. After Sasha went to all the trouble “seasoning” it, your peep washed it? Doesn’t she know that fur adds roughage to a meal?

A new source of fiber! Peep already gets a enough of that fiber.

This is deer country so I only worried about plants at ground level. Who thought I’d be worrying about deck boxes? He likes a varied salad.

I like it more than I thought I would. It’s very soft and light and fluffy unlike Sasha who is soft and fluffy but definitely not light.

Haha. Maybe Sasha will follow Hazel’s lead and become a chub bug. 😀

She already is although not quite as tubby as Hazel at her highest. She’s coming in at 13.8 lbs. and she’s a small stature cat. Morgan who is much taller weighs at least 2 lbs. less.

Oh dearie me….when our humans are sick, and we don’t get our regular treats – it’s all we can do to be extra companionable but you all did a good job. Sasha got uninterrupted newspaper time on the NONO Table and the rest of you did what you could to keep the Human cheered up. Well done.
Hugs, Teddy

Happy to hear your peep is all better. We don’t want her to feel bad. Morgan, I know you and the other Sassy Cats were on the frontline encouraging her to feel better and surrounding her with your healing purrs. Better than chicken noodle soup any old day! Enjoy your weekend Sassy Cats and Peeps!
