Morgan here. Gracie is snoring on the picture window ledge. For such a little thing, she makes a big snore. She also hogs the best bed in the window.
It’s been a weird week. Lots of house things got done — some carpet, paint selections and the realization that if you want something done you have to do it yourself. This made the peep both happy and neurotic.
Being neurotic must be exhausting. I don’t know personally as I am a very laid back cat. Some say (most peeps) I’m the best cat. I never get dramatic like Sasha or scared like Gus. Gracie and I just maintain our presence no matter who is here. We like to supervise.
This week we came to the realization that we can’t go out on the deck. The peep has done her best by opening the sliding doors to the deck and some windows so we can nap on the sills but there is nothing like sleeping on the cool tile on a screened porch. Not sure I approve of this downsizing stuff. They owe us big time. Maybe a hairball on the bed but we are waiting for the new bed quilt to arrive. Every welcoming committee should come with a hairball. Oh yes, and a catnip toy.
Have a great weekend!
I had no idea that cats snore!

OMG yes! It’s a soft snore but I had several cats that did. Gracie at 7 lbs is one of the loudest ever. I can tell where she is because I hear the snore first.

Dear Morgan – Plotting revenge with a hairball is not a nice cat at all. I kept asking the Peep if she’d told you all the bad news … she was dreading it.

Our cats just about tolerate each other – I’ve seen them sit opposite each other, seemingly in silence, before one of them thumps the other in the head. It’s all very odd.

Yep, that’s what they do. Gus and Sasha hug and do head washes. Then there is an ear bite and they are rolling around the floor wrestling until someone squawks. Then everyone runs to hide.

Nice update Morgan! I agree, a good hairball with get the message across. Geez, Romeo and Juliet should get a room!

The peep wants to start a new folder for their pictures called “get a room pics.”

Sounds good! There is probably a ton of them together! What the cute couple.

Hi Morgan – so nice to hear from you! Take it easy on your peep – she has a lot going on π You will come to enjoy getting some nice fresh air in through the screen, even if it isn’t quite as good as your porch!

According to the peeps, a deck is not like a screened porch. First, there is no roof so the furniture has to be covered until you use it and it’s hotter. Then you have to cover again. Second, third, fourth and fifth are the bugs. We cats want to go back to the old house but some other aliens moved in there and they don’t even have a cat (although they have two cat doors!).

The peeps are right – a deck isn’t the same. Maybe they’ll be inspired to get a couple of cats, what with the cat doors and that excellent screened port.

Awesome update. Morgan. I agree that it is a great idea to wait for the new bed cover! π

Yes, I’m saving up my hairball so it’s big and slimey. Only the best for our peeps.

Don’t give up on the deck deal. I think your peeps will work something out. I imagine they would like to sit out there without being bothered by bugs and stuff, so maybe a roof and screen are in the future.

Thanks for the update, Morgan. I agree that you deserve a screened-in porch.

I do! I think it was in my adoption contract.

Ask the peeps for a catio!

Catios aren’t allowed in this neighborhood. What a dumb rule.

Boss Cat would like me to note that hairballs are most effective and insidious when deposited inside a shoe overnight.

In all my cat years, I’ve never had that happen. Various other things but not a shoe. That’s a strong statement.

Hey Morgan, realizations are funny like that. They just pop up and then they make you move on. We have had a few realizations in the last three years and like your lady peep says they can make you happy and/or neurotic. I’m betting the peeps are going to work out something with the deck. I am also thinking that Gus and Sasha, judging from the pictures, couldn’t care less about a screened porch! Have a wonderful weekend!

We are hoping to work out something for the deck. We want to roof it so it’s just a jump to screens. We’ll call it our lanai in honor of you!

I’d love that!

Well Morgan other than no porch or deck to relax on, you all do have a mighty nice new house. You’ve all found some great nap spots (important), get regular meals (important) and live with humans who love you (important) so all in all….not a bad deal right? Maybe one day a porch or deck or some kind of enclosed outside area will be in the works. My motto is “NEVER SAY NEVER”…….. happy Friday!
Hugs, Teddy

Yes we do have a great life. The deck doors are open and I’m smelling the air. Life is good. (The peep needs a tee shirt that says that!)

I bet you will all miss the sunporch, but c’est la vie. There are other benefits to downsizing. And the cats will survive.

The peeps are too busy to worry about the porch right now and we cats are being considerate! (Not!) Life is good here though. The front window is awesome. Deep shelf and afternoon dappled shade (tree outside). We love it!

Our computers are temporarily (I hope) in front of the window. Sometimes the snoring is really loud! As long as she is healthy!
