Just a few pictures as the cats wonder if they will have Fancy Feast turkey or the regular chicken.
Gracie was hoping for prime rib!

There will be slim pickings for our dear dog this year. We aren’t doing anything traditional and the “usual” Thanksgiving is just not happening. You’ve given me an idea, however, that maybe I need to pick up something special for her. I’m not sure what the doggy equivalent of “Fancy Feast” even is. I have a couple of days. 🙂

I’m sure there is something!

Will you promise them Fancy Feast turkey cat food next Thursday?

No. I’m not sure they would like it as chicken is their standard. It will be like any other day for them. Maybe some porch time if the weather is nice. Other than that, they will chase each other and sleep.

It is supposed to be warmer for us, so some porch time may just happen!

Your sassy cats are priceless, Kate. I am hopeful they will get whatever their hearts desire….turkey, shrimp, beef, chicken. 😊

They always do ok. Some might say even spoiled but not anyone in this house.

RC Cat has been scouting the pantry as she heard “the big bird” has arrived. Everyone here loves turkey ( I tried for grilling steaks, but got outvoted)
The middle two pictures and captions are hilarious – love the tail curl and the wretched out paws ( practice for first food grab and for lengthening paw reach?). Smiles for having company!

Only 4 of us. Our pod along with the 4 cats.

They definitely deserve turkey.
Wishing a very happy Thanksgiving to the cats (and their waitstaff)! 😀

I’m with Gracie; I’m rethinking the whole turkey thing this year also. If it wasn’t for the soup I make afterwards, I for sure wouldn’t bother. Gimme prime rib any day.

Oh happy memories of two dogs watching the TV dinner cooking……. ie the turkey in the oven through the glass door!….. on Christmas morning. I pushed the cooked bird to the back of the worktop and went up to have my shower. When I came down, there was one very smug looking GSD curled up on her blanket and one very sheepish rough collies ‘smoking’ a drumstick.
The meat was still in place as the bone had come out clean, but there was no way the collie could have reached. I wonder who had first lick?

Gotta love a smart dog especially one who can deflect the blame.

She was a class act, bless her.

Once upon a time, many moons ago, our Great Dane, seeing that we were occupied with eating in the dining room, grabbed the 1/2-carved turkey off the counter and chowed down!
Another time, she stole an entire London broil, that was “resting” next to the grill, and charged out into the yard with it to augment her “meagre” diet. 😀
I hope the cats get treated royally!

We used to have a cat (when I was a kid) who stole a whole pork chop before my mother put it on the table. She would steal chicken legs too. She was a small thing but very quick. I hear the larger dogs (my friend has a Greyhound) counter surf very effectively.

Another time, on New Year’s Eve, she “borrowed” a 2 pound pate that mom left unguarded. She was shameless. 😛

BTW: The cats all seem to be saying, “Summer’s over. Time to cat nap.”

I love a gutsy dog but maybe not at one of my dinner parties.

I am surprised you don’t see wild turkey there. We are waiting for bacon wrapped chicken breasts in sauce cooked in the slow cooker for Thanksgiving… and homemade noodles! Good Morning, Sassy Cats and peeps!

We used to have a wild turkey that came in the yard every day around 4 p.m. We called her Georgia. She would clean up under the bird feeders. She hasn’t been around the last 5 years. We miss her. The cats would watch her and say, “Dang, that is the funniest looking cat I’ve ever seen!”

Keep a close eye out those windows – that turkey could arrive any time now!

We’re (the humans) are having pot roast. That’s what my brother wants so that’s what it is. No one in the family really likes turkey.

Yes, that sounds good to me, too! But Andy wants turkey and so turkey it is. But he did request a chocolate satin pie instead of anything pumpkin or apple.

During normal times, here too. This is not normal times. We just decided yesterday that there would be 4 of us. Prior to that it was just 2 of us.
