It’s been a slow news week here. Mostly. Meal times are still a challenge but it’s too hot to care. Here are a few pictures.
I have no idea why Hazel and Gracie are on the same chair. There are four chairs around the table and two of them have a good view out the sliding doors. Never try to figure out cats.
That’s from this week. I have another from last year.
Since losing weight Hazel has been able to jump up on the counter where Morgan and Gracie eat their food sometimes leaving leftovers. I’m hoping that it’s limiting. If she gains too much she won’t be able to jump up and have access to their food. We’ll see. Here she is so proud of herself!Mollie and Morgan are napping. All the critters here wish you a great weekend!
They are looking great! Good for Hazel, and good for you for getting her to slim down a little bit 🙂

I just walked in my bedroom and both my cats were in the bed. I think they both want to claim it as their turf and don’t want the other to get an upper hand. They don’t fight; it is more of a passive aggressive competition.

As long as they don’t fight and no one gets hurt, it’s all good!

It is so hot, isn’t it? We tried to book a “shave” cut for our poor Zena and all the groomers are too busy to fit her in. We really should have done this sooner. We’re putting frozen water bottles in with the rabbit and just hoping everyone will be okay! I love the photo of the two “buddies” and they must somehow feel comforted by each other! I hope you have a good weekend, too, Kate. We all have excuses to be a little lazy, I think! 🙂

I’m fortunate that all 4 cats get along. Sometimes they chase each other but it’s never aggressive.

Hazel looks great! It’s amazing to see her before and after pics. Maybe she needs a tummy tuck to get rid of some of that extra skin.

Probably but that’s not happening! 🙂

Hazel and Lucy are the same heaviness. Lucy needs a foot stool to get up on the bed.

Me too but summer seems short so I’m not complaining!

We humans are hot and the cats have all that fur and want to cozy up to one another.

For a long time she couldn’t jump that high. She is just so pleased with herself!

Your cats are surviving the heat. I hope y’all are, too.

They live in an air conditioned house and don’t have to go out to shop for their food. Lucky ducks!

If there is one cat you don’t want to be butt buddies with, it’s Hazel. One toot and the house need fumigating! 🙂

Yay Hazel! Looks like she’ll be ready for swimsuit season soon.

She is looking good. She has a lot of loose skin from weighing so much but she looks so much better. Her face is pretty.

I have this image of you in my mind in which you carry your camera with you all the time as you wander around your house, always ready to snap a pic of your cats. You’re paparazzi to them. Great photos!

It’s just the opposite. I never have my camera when they do funny things. For the butt picture taken this week, I walked into the kitchen saw it, then turned and ran (quietly) for my camera. Then I had to sneak up and wait until they both looked at me. Nerve wracking!

well done Hazel! you are better than the mama who started her diet with baking a cheesecake ;O)

Hazel: I wanted to bake a tuna cake but the humans wouldn’t let me. Maybe I’d like cheesecake! Sounds like a great way to start a diet!

Hazel’s facial expressions are priceless. Mars was in opposition last night. Dear Husband pulled his telescope out and took a peek. That’s the latest from our neck of the woods.

That’s pretty cool. I had heard about the Mars thing but sadly no telescope here.

How much has she lost Kate?

18 lbs at her largest, she is not running between 14 and 15. She should be around 10 but that’s never going to happen. As long as she is healthy I’m good. When she was at her largest she was having mobility issues and butt cleaning issues too.

I agree with the healthy bit and could see a change in the photos.

There is a huge change around her neck. I didn’t realize that cats gain so much weight in there neck and upper shoulders. She must have had a triple chin!

Bossy Cat is the opposite. She carries it all in her midriff — so when I get a shot of her from her chest up, people tell me how svelte she’s looking and ask if she’s lost weight.
Ha, ha, no. She just knows how to work the camera.
