Hazel here. It was my week for an in-depth story on how I got to this house. I’m quite interesting but you will have to wait.
The hooman went down for the count. She had something she called a virus. It required her to visit a people vet. She didn’t travel in a carrier but she didn’t get a catnip toy either. She should change people vets!
She is fine. She had to wait it out and act like a cat. That means sleeping most of the time and complaining about things. She also had someone else open her people food for her. She is fine now and will resume her cat stories next week.
In the meantime here is a teaser. I’m the only cat in this house that fell out the second story window. Yes I did that. You will have to wait to see what happened.
Here are some pictures of where I’m not allowed to be!
See you next Friday.
Cats sure are the real bosses of the household 😀

I understand, Hazel. You just have to keep checking all the forbidden places to make sure the boundaries didn’t change. You’re just being thorough 🙂

Yes, they call me Hoover as I will vacuum up any food around.

Then you will appreciate Theo’s move last night. We had fish for dinner – prepared on the BBQ. Gilles had left the lid open to cool.
Some time later I looked outside to see Theo carefully picking his way across the grill INSIDE the BBQ to pick at the pieces of fish still stuck to the grill. What a cat!

Hugs to your hooman, but even bigger hugs to you for that scary fall! I can’t wait to hear more about it.

Mostly I was scared I couldn’t get back in the place with the soft beds and lots of food. I found my way to the door and cried to be let back in. Fortunately everyone saw it happen so all was good.

Oh, you poor thing. It must have been so scary. I am glad somebody saw your accident and let you back in. Were your feelings hurt?

More like my pride but with some petting and extra food, all was well.

Hazel make sure you give your hooman some TLC to help her feel better! Wow! A fall from a 2nd story windo?! Eager to hear more from you. Loved the pics! You are a daring cat.

I’m a stealthy cat. No one knows exactly where I am. I like it like that.

Well, I’m glad she didn’t have to get into a people carrier. That would’ve just been weird!

She did get into the BIG people carrier with the steering wheel but not a tiny cramped one like we have.

HA HA – making hay while the sun shines…or mom reclines…Go for it Hazel!
(Fingers crossed the hooman follows cat demonstrations on how to rest and recover and is up and about soon…after you’re exhausted from all the fun)

We takes turns sleeping on top of her so she can’t move. I think she likes that except when she yells “Gotta pee!”

Thanks for the affirmation! I don’t get much from my hoomans! They get all nuts about the dining room table! Seriously, it’s just a platform that never gets used. — Hazel

It’s not like they eat off the table, am I right? They eat off plates and bowls. So who cares if you wiggle your but on the table?

Right! Mostly they eat off the kitchen table too. I don’t go there. Really. Although I saw Gracie there once. Shhhh!

Hope you’re feeling better and continue to improve, Kate. It’s no fun being sick at any time but in spring it feels really unfair!

I’d like to think that there is a spring. We didn’t see much of one this year. However we had some summer today. The humidity had to be 90%.

True here also! And it rains every day!

Louis Catorze is not allowed on the kitchen worktop, so I started putting him on there to give him meds & his spot-on treatment. He has not set paw there since. 🌞👑

It’s a marvel that you have cats that tell on themselves. Dare I say RAT on themselves?

They won’t confess unless there is solid proof like a photo or tuna breath.

Hazel, there are places our cats are not supposed to climb onto, but they do – of course. Pippin gave the bipeds a fright by jumping off a balcony. He was then disgusted that he wasn’t allowed on there anymore!

I can understand his disgust. If he did it ok once, well what’s the big deal? — Hazel

Did your hooman change vets yet? I would not go to anyone who refused to provide catnip toys. Meanwhile, this hooman wishes your hooman all better entirely and looking forward to your story.

Hi Hazel. Go give Kate some nose nuzzles and tell her to feel better. After all, kitty food and catnip doesn’t get bought by itself. Looking forward to your story (especially the one about the window).

Hi Janis! The food comes like magic in big boxes on the doorstep so we don’t worry too much about that. We do worry that there is someone here with opposable thumbs to open it though. –Hazel

At least you only fell out the window, Hazel! My Bat Cat jumped off a balcony. Deliberately. (Don’t worry, she was fine.)
Enjoy the heated human bolster in the bed while you can.
