I have one cat that chews artificial flowers. She doesn’t eat them. Just chews them to bits. For my dining room table I use ceramic centerpieces but every once in a while I like to soften it up. Mollie was impressed. It didn’t take her long to find it.Mollie: Nice job! I like the berries but that chenille spider will not be long for this world!
RC Cat can’t wait for Christmas: she loves the manger set with figures collected from all around the world. She tends to grab a straw burro and head towards her Mousie Collection. Or after lulling us into a sense of security, she’ll stealthily sneak in and snatch the Woolly Lamb from New Zealand – not knock over anything in her path. She’s quite the extraction expert.
Got to admire cats’ style.
(Mollie is so elegant – how could she set a wrong paw down?)

I’m sending Morgan for lessons. She was up on the (forbidden) mantle this morning and threw down a potted plant (it was fake but still!). Haven’t seen her since. She knows.

Cats can be little dickens, can’t they? Every cat I’ve ever owned has chewed on the flowers ~ dried, artificial or real. I love your centerpiece, Kate ~ very pretty!

You can’t pull anything over on them. They find anything new in the house within a nanosecond.

Our new cat is doing the same, except she prefers real flowers.

Nope. Mollie doesn’t like the real ones at all. Maybe a little catnip….

Well, Hazel makes a darling centerpiece… colorful and festive!

I was just reading your comment to Nancy about Hazel’s diet and her name was on my mind. Make that Mollie! Too early in the morning… 😀

Mollie didn’t take it personal. No one would mistake her for Hazel who is twice as big!

LOL! Poor Hazel, I need to lose a few pounds and it isn’t as easy as it used to be. I feel for her.

She lost around 4 lbs. over 18 months a few years back but I had to lower the kibble so Mollie could get it (she’s getting older and the jump was too high). Now Hazel can jump there. It’s a big one and she doesn’t do it often but she’s gained at least a pound in the past few months. Vet apt this month so we’ll see then. It’s hard when you have 3 cats because everyone eats everyone’s food and it’s harder to restrict one cat’s diet.

I do have a dog that will chew our back door to destruction, but at least she can’t jump on our tables. It’s nice of you to provide such beautiful entertainment for your Mollie!

Argh! She did some berries and a few bites on the spider. Things have been quiet there lately. I have (really had) a dogwood arrangement for the spring that was deflowered. At least she doesn’t chew doors.

She is a wonderful (and very pretty) cat. I didn’t adopt her because she was pretty though. She was a 7 lb. mom cat with a litter. Her litter was adopted but she wasn’t. I couldn’t let her at the shelter by herself.

What a sweetheart. Does she get a tummy ache? I think I have all mine off the artificial ones now. But I am still really careful with live plants.

She doesn’t eat the stuff, just chews them up and spits it out. (Yep, the evidence is right there) None of my cats will go after live plants except for cat grass. I’m lucky that way.

Yes, you are lucky! I am waiting to hear back right now on bloodwork for two cats. Yikes. One is Pear who is old and has some issues. The other one is Sloopy Anne. I discovered that she had a problem with her teeth and gums when I adopted her that was not caught at the shelter. I didn’t realize it and now she has sores in her mouth :(. So I need to get her teeth cleaned. I’m unlucky that way haha, but mainly it’s poor Sloopy Anne unlucky to be in pain.

I had two of my cats’ teeth cleaned this year. They gave me pain meds to give after the procedure. One had real issues and lost 4 teeth. Yikes! All good now.

So glad your kitties are fine now! Sloopy Anne is definitely going to need antibiotics, I’m sure, and she might need pain meds, too. I just wish it was scheduled already. I feel so bad for her.

Poor baby! Hope you get her in soon. My cats must have had pain too. It’s so hard to tell.

The only clue was that she was becoming more reclusive, and I didn’t pick up on. My husband thought she was rubbing her face on him and on his slippers, but I didn’t pick up on that either. 😦

Awwww! Mollie does that too. I’ll have to check but she had her dental work done in January.

It could be that thing where they try to leave scent from their cheeks . . . .

That’s what I thought it was but I’ll have it checked at her annual this month.

She’s a sweetheart except for chewing centerpieces.

Tigger likes to sniff new decor (and suitcases, boxes, and bags before they head through the door). But he doesn’t chew anything . . . Unless it’s an edible arrangement of cat treats.

We don’t do treats here. Hazel, diet, you know…

Bat Cat was such a fan of roses that I stopped putting them on the dining room table. Or the desk. Or the end table. Or the secretary.
Or anywhere.

I have a friend with 2 cats who “like” flowers. One day I visited there was a vase bouquet on top of the fridge that someone had sent her. It was the only “safe” place.

Her cats were too tubby to jump that high even landing on the counter first. Your cats must have been something! (or are something depending on whether they are still around)

Ha, some day I will get to the story of the great refrigerator leap.

Easy likes flower arrangements too… he ruined the advent wreath my mother bought for me… a good reason that I can’t use it this year LOL

I didn’t think dogs did flowers. Then again they do boots so why wouldn’t they?
