During the dog days of summer, cats like to sleep all stretched out. People have to find alternative seating arrangements.
And 30 feet away the birds are chowing down!
While inside there lies another sleeping cat.
Not too much going on here. It’s been too hot even for cats. If you are a pet person (especially dogs) and want to truly laugh out loud, visit Autumn Ashbough and her ghetto elk story! Click here
Between the excessive heat and the downpours, napping is about all anyone can do right now. (Your cushion testers seem to be taking their jobs seriously there)

Our heat broke. We had a high of 76. It was in the 60s at 10 a.m. (That hadn’t happened in months.) Best of all dewpoints (whatever they are) are down to comfortable range. Yay!

Hope you and the kitties get a break in the heat! We had a cool front drop down yesterday and we are getting a little taste of fall for the weekend!

We will get that next week. The weekend is still bumping 90.

Glad to see that your beautiful patio set meets the approval of Hazel & Morgan. I love that your bird feeder gets so much action! There is something relaxing about watching snack time at the feeder.

Yes! I have two other feeders, one with thistle for finches on the other side of the pond with an equal number of birds. I am an overachiever when it comes to wildlife. I even have a mouse family with babies nestled in Hazel’s combed out fur in a protected corner of the yard. I love mouse babies. They are so tiny.

Your bird feeder is definitely a colorful social spot! The napping cats have the right idea for surviving summer heat! 🙂

Yes. I love when they wake up and ask if it’s happy hour and try to order a catnip martini.

Cats really are our superiors.
That was a great reading tip – thanks! I decided after 10 minutes to start following your Autumn, but couldn’t find a “Follow” button. Any helpful hints?

Here is the link to her home page http://www.westdateseast.com/ When I pull up her home page, there is a place on the left bar for an email follow. WP usually shows a follow button when you scroll up but I didn’t see it. I hate the constant changes! She’s writes about marrying an Asian guy with a very unusual family. She is always hysterical.

Cats are smart, aren’t they? I enjoyed reading about Fey also. Cheers for the weekend!

Love that post. I’d never heard the term ghetto elk before. The other blogger I follow who has worked hard with a rescue dog is Colin from A Dog’s Life. I admire people who are willing to step in poop to clean; train a dog; and give them a happy life. BTW she might have known the intruders from her street days!

Ha, maybe! When we got her she had some racist quirks, though she got over them. But that’s another post.

Looking forward to that. I’ve know dogs with gender issues but not race.

Looks like a typical day at my house, sleeping beauties, lol. I do hope Morgan is OK, tho’ we all do sleep more with age.

Something is happening with Morgan….I think it’s age. She never napped much for a cat. Yesterday she slept at least 18 hours and she’s already asleep now. She normally stalks bugs all day. Wonder if I’ll need an exterminator since she’s sleeping on the job.
